WITH the world championships next summer in Barcelona bound to feature some fast racing and maybe a few world records, we wanted to know which of the individual world records set in 2012 is most likely to be broken in 2013. We&#039;ll break it up by gender, and this week we ask you to vote on the men&#039;s world records. First up is Sun Yang&#039;s 1500 freestyle world record of 14:31.02, then Cameron van der Burgh&#039;s 100 breast world record of 58.46 and Akihiro Yamaguchi&#039;s 200 breast mark of 2:07.01. Go to our home page at swimmingworld.com and place your vote in the poll on the right side of the page. We&#039;ll bring you the results next week, and present the new poll for the women&#039;s world records.<\/p>\n<p>Next year will feature some big meets in the United States and abroad, and we wanted to know which of them you were most excited to follow in 2013. With 37.31 percent, the long course world championships is the most anticipated meet of 2013 among our readers, and for good reason. Not too far behind with 22 percent was the men&#039;s Division I NCAA championships, and the women&#039;s NCAA championships was third with 14.18 percent. The US world championship trials received 9.70 percent and the final high school meets for Missy Franklin and Jack Conger rounded out the voting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX, Arizona, December 21.
