She recorded a new personal best in the 100m back (1:07.45) at the Cary Futures Championships this August. At the Indiana Senior Short Course Championships in March, she finaled in five events and recorded four new lifetime bests.<\/p>\n<p>Verbrugge also competes for Westfield High School and is a four-time finalist at the IHSAA State Championships. During her junior season, she finished fifth in the 100 back (56.16) and seventh in the 200 IM (2:05.62).<\/p>\n<p>She told <em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #104982;\"><strong>&#8220;The Purdue team culture is something I really admire, and it was one\u00a0of the main reasons why I chose to become a Boilermaker. I&#8217;m so excited to\u00a0continue swimming at Purdue! Boiler up!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>200 IM \u2013 2:02.35<\/li>\n<li>400 IM \u2013 4:29.94<\/li>\n<li>100 back \u2013 55.66<\/li>\n<li>200 back \u2013 2:00.82<\/li>\n<li>100 breast \u2013 1:04.24<\/li>\n<li>100 fly \u2013 57.91<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Verbrugge will be valuable to the Boilermakers when she arrives on campus as part of the class of 2023.
