Qatar.<\/p>\n<p>No records were broken on the first day of competition, but many of the best swimmers in the world were back in search of top performances on the second day and a couple of records did fall.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what happened on Day 2:<\/p>\n<h3>Order of events<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Women\u2019s 400 IM<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Men\u2019s 1500 Free<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Men\u2019s 50 2 RESULTS<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Women\u2019s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p>It is sounding like a broken record, but for the fourth day in the past five in a World Cup event, Hungary\u2019s <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> opened the competition with a victory.<\/p>\n<p>Hosszu won the 400 IM in 4:39.57 to again go 1-2 with compatriot <strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong>, who finished in 4:44.87.<\/p>\n<p>There were only four competitors in this event as <strong>Alba Vazquez Ruiz<\/strong> was third in 4:48.68 and Russia\u2019s <strong>Vitalina Simonova<\/strong> was fourth the race itself wasn\u2019t very close.<\/p>\n<p>Spain\u2019s <strong>Marcos Gil Corbacho<\/strong> led at the 150 and never looked back, winning the event in 15:28.19, leading a 1-2 Spanish finish with <strong>Ferran Julia Tous<\/strong> (15:42.84).<\/p>\n<p>China\u2019s <strong>Lin Zheqi<\/strong> was third 15:57.24, edging Hungary\u2019s <strong>Danial Dudas<\/strong> (15:57.78).<\/p>\n<div strong performances in the sprinting events, winning the 50 back in 24.49.<\/p>\n<p>The time was six hundredths away from the World Cup record set by <strong>Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> last week in Kazan. Heemskerk then led after the 100 and 150 before Sjostrom\u2019s 29.30 final split gave her the victory. She finished in1:56.32, while Heemskerk finished 1:56.92.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary\u2019s <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> (2:00.16) and <strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> (2:00.59) finished 3-4 after his strong season, too, becoming the only finisher in the 200 IM to break 2 minutes.<br \/>\nLarkin was second at the halfway point before a 28.12 final split held off the field.<\/p>\n<p>Ecuador\u2019s <strong>Tomas Peribonio Avila<\/strong> led for the first half of the race before finishing second in 2:00.40.<\/p>\n<p>Russia\u2019s <strong>Krill Prigoda<\/strong> took third at 2:03.47.<\/p>\n<h3>Women\u2019s 100 Back<\/h3>\n<p>In one of the closest events of the World Cup season, Hungary\u2019s <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> edged <strong>Kira Toussaint<\/strong> of the Netherlands to win the 100 back.<\/p>\n<p>Hosszu, who has competed in nearly every women\u2019s event a the World Cup, won in 59.63, her third event of the day.<\/p>\n<p>Toussaint led at the 50 with a 29.20 split, but finished 1:00.05 to finish second.<\/p>\n<p>Spain\u2019s <strong>Tamara Frias Molina<\/strong> was third in 1:02.47 in the five-person the title in the 50 breast, finishing in 26.84, a tenth of a second off the World Cup record in the event.<\/p>\n<p>Lima held off <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> of the U.S., who finished 27.47.<\/p>\n<p>Russia\u2019s <strong>Kirill Prigoda<\/strong> was third in 27.40, ahead of <strong>Arno Kamminga<\/strong> of the Netherlands (27.87).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_329132\" the weekend was finally achieved.<\/p>\n<p>Sweden\u2019s <strong>Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> won the 50 fly in 25.22, bettering her own World Cup record of 25.39 set last week in Kazan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> finished just being in 25.76, pushing Sjostrom the entire race.<\/p>\n<p>Belgium\u2019s <strong>Kimberly Buys<\/strong> finished third (25.94), followed by<strong> Kim Busch<\/strong> of the Netherlands (26.26).<\/p>\n<p>Switzerland\u2019s <strong>Sasha Touretski<\/strong> was fifth in 26.95), followed by <strong>Kira Toussaint<\/strong> of fell, it didn\u2019t take long for the first men\u2019s record to follow.<\/p>\n<p>Just minutes later, in the very next event, <strong>Blake Pieroni<\/strong> of the U.S. won the 100 free in a World Cup record 48.11.<\/p>\n<p>Pieroni\u2019s time broke the mark set by South Africa\u2019s <strong>Chad le Clos<\/strong>, who swam the race in 28.16 in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Russia\u2019s <strong>Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> was right behind, finishing in 48.43.<\/p>\n<p>Belgium\u2019s <strong>Pieter Timmers<\/strong> finished third 40.04, one of three Belgians in the final.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kyle Stolk<\/strong> (50.22) and <strong>Mathys Goosen<\/strong> (50.54) of the Netherlands went 4-5.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa\u2019s <strong>Ryan Coetzee<\/strong> was sixth in 50.76, followed by races of the meet despite none of the biggest names being involved in it.<\/p>\n<p>Azerbaijan\u2019s <strong>Maksym Shemberev<\/strong> won the race in 1:59.45, just ahead of Hungary\u2019s <strong>David Verraszto<\/strong>, who finished in 1:58.70.<\/p>\n<p>Shemberev was fifth after the 50, then third after the 100 and second at the 150 behind Verraszto.<\/p>\n<p>China\u2019s <strong>Wu
