She just finished up a successful long course season, recording three new best times at Junior Nationals.\u00a0Last summer, Carter represented the United States at the FINA\/airweave SCM Swimming World Cup in Eindhoven\u00a0where she took sixth in the 200m back (2:13.57) and seventh in the 100m back (1:01.22).<\/p>\n<p>Also representing Los Alamitos High School, Carter is a four-time finalist at the CIF State Championships. At the State meet during her junior season, she finished third in the 100 back (54.14) and fifth in the 100 fly (54.18). She placed 11th in the 100 back (55.49) as a sophomore and took 13th in the event (56.87) as a freshman.<\/p>\n<p>She told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>&#8220;I\u2019m so exited to continue my academic and swimming career at Cal! The team at Cal makes me feel just at home and the team that Teri has built is so amazing!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>100 back &#8211; 53.51<\/li>\n<li>200 back &#8211; 1:55.40<\/li>\n<li>100 fly &#8211; 53.95<\/li>\n<li>200 fly &#8211; 2:00.79<\/li>\n<li>400 IM &#8211; 4:22.88<\/li>\n<li>100 free &#8211; 50.71<\/li>\n<li>200 free &#8211; 1:48.61<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Carter will join a powerhouse backstroke group when she arrives on campus for the 2019-20 season that will include\u00a0<strong>Keaton Blovad, Sophie Krivokapic-Zhou<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Courtney Mykkanen.\u00a0<\/strong>Both her best 100 and 200 back times would&#8217;ve scored in the B-final at the 2018 PAC-12 Championships.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW COMMIT:\u00a0Mountain View, Calif. native\u00a0Danielle Carter\u00a0has declared her verbal commitment to swim at the University of California, Berkeley as a member of the class of 2023.
