THE first full night of competition took place at the Tom Dolan Invitational with a U.S. National Age Group record in relays by Nation&#039;s Capital, as well as quite a few other close calls in terms of U.S. NAGs. Live stream and on-demand information is available at our <a href=http:\/\/tv.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/events\/2012-speedo-tom-dolan-invitational target=_blank>event landing page<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>NCAP&#039;s Janet Hu, Robyn Dryer, Kristina Li and Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky took down the 15-16 U.S. National Age Group record with a sizzling time of 7:16.04.  That effort cut two seconds off the 2010 record set by NBAC&#039;s Camryne Morris, Natalie Beale, Kelly Offutt and Kendall Surhoff.<\/p>\n<p><b>Race video from SwimmingWorld.TV<\/b><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/blip.tv\/play\/hKkHg4rpTQI.x?p=1\" width=\"470\" height=\"380\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Allie Szekely claimed the girls 13-14 100 breaststroke title with a 1:02.25.  That swim moved her to eighth on the 14-and-under list in the event&#039;s history.  Megan Quann-Jendrick owns the U.S. National Age Group record for 13-14 year olds with a 1:01.29 from 1998.   Brooke Malone earned the open girls 100 breast crown in 1:02.45, slower than Szekely&#039;s 13-14 title-winning time. Rachel Danegger won the girls 11-12 50 breast with a 32.09. <\/p>\n<p>Szekely doubled up with a 4:17.32 to win the girls 13-14 400 IM, while Madison Boswell topped the girls open 400 IM with a 4:24.07.  Morgan Scott followed with a 59.71 to win the girls 11-12 100 back. Lea Gwennap topped the girls 13-14 200 free event in 1:50.95, while Kaitlyn Jones clinched the open girls 200 free title in 1:48.30, touching out Anna Kolanowski (1:48.45) in the process.  Morgan Scott hit the wall in 53.16 to capture the girls 11-12 100 free title. <\/p>\n<p>Cassidy Bayer,13, beat a field of 14 year olds in the girls 13-14 100 fly with a 54.40 for the win.  That time is only a second off the 13-14 U.S. National Age Group record of 53.44 shared by Felicia Lee and Kendyl Stewart. Meanwhile, Janet Hu took a run at her 15-16 U.S. National Age Group record with a winning time of 52.60 in the girls open 100 fly.  That performance just missed her 52.40 set earlier this year.  Madison Homovich took home the girls 11-12 50 fly victory in 26.76. <\/p>\n<p>Jonathan Spires took home the boys 13-14 100 breast title in 57.82, a second-and-a-half back of the 13-14 U.S. National Age Group record of 56.36 set by Tanner Kurz in 2007. Zach Hayden, 25, topped the boys open 100 breast finale in 55.27. Reece Whitley, <a href=http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/lane9\/news\/USA\/32863.asp target=_blank>who already broke the 11-12 U.S. National Age Group record in the 200 breast in the age group timed finals<\/a>, won the 11-12 50 breast with a 28.08.  That time closed the distance with Michael Andrew&#039;s U.S. NAG of 27.46. <\/p>\n<p>Michael Jensen stopped the clock at 1:39.64 to win the boys 13-14 200 freestyle finale, while Matt Stasiunas touched out Koya Osada, 1:39.41 to 1:39.45, for the boys open 200 free crown.  Sanjay Wijesekera dominated the boys 11-12 100 free finale with a 50.91.  <\/p>\n<p>Jensen then doubled up with a 50.50 to win the boys 13-14 100 fly title, while Jack Conger threw down a 46.15 to win the boys open 100 fly.  That performance chopped a full second off the Texas-bound Swimming World High School Swimmer of the Year&#039;s personal best of 47.19 set at NCSA Juniors in March.   John Clado claimed the boys 11-12 50 fly title with a 26.47. <\/p>\n<p>Bouke Edskes snared the boys 13-14 400 IM title in 4:13.59, while Koya Osada topped Jack Foster, 3:53.16 to 3:54.62, for the boys open 400 IM victory.  Sanjay Wisekera doubled up with a 56.72 to top the boys 11-12 100 back.  <\/p>\n<p>NCAP&#039;s Reni Moshos, Hannah Baker, Emily Meilus and Lea Gwennap cruised to victory in the girls 13-14 800 free relay with a 7:37.59. NCAP&#039;s Brandon Fabian, Sam Pomajevich, Samuel Tarter and Timothy Wu won the boys 13-14 800 free relay in 7:11.73, while RMSC&#039;s Jack Conger, Barry Mangold, Matthew Colket and Thomas Colket clinched the boys open 800 free relay in 6:37.56.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COLLEGE PARK, Maryland, December 7.
