He concluded the long course season at Junior Nationals after recording five new lifetime bests at the Speedo Champions Series in Austin.<\/p>\n<p>The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American also swims for Central High School. At the 2018 UIL Texas 6A State Championships, he raced to 14th in both the 100 breast (57.28) and 200 IM (1:54.19) as a junior. He also finished 14th in the 100 breast (57.98) during his sophomore campaign.<\/p>\n<p>He told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong> &#8220;I choose Michigan for the outstanding coaching staff, the family like team, and the amazing facilities I believe will help me reach my goals. The team and coaches made me feel welcomed from day one.\u00a0 Thank you everyone especially my family for helping me throughout the process. Go Blue!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>His best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>100 breast &#8211; 56.37<\/li>\n<li>200 breast &#8211; 2:02.56<\/li>\n<li>200 IM &#8211; 1:52.97<\/li>\n<li>100 free &#8211; 46.22<\/li>\n<li>200 free &#8211; 1:40.52<\/li>\n<li>500 free &#8211; 4:32.99<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>His coach,\u00a0<strong>Jason Walter,\u00a0<\/strong>told us:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #dede23;\"><strong>&#8220;I am very proud Donny will be representing Lakeside Aquatic Club at University of Michigan.\u00a0 Donny is a hard working leader on our team and I am excited to see him have the opportunity to excel at the next level. I know Coach Bottom and the Michigan staff will enjoy working with Donny over the next four years.\u00a0 So proud of Donny and very happy for him and his family.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Scott&#8217;s versatility will be beneficial to Michigan when he arrives on campus as part of the class of 2023. In breaststroke, he&#8217;ll have one year to train with\u00a0<strong>Jacob Montague\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Jeremy Babinet<\/strong> who finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 100 breast at the 2018 Big Ten Championships.
