At the Far Western SCY Championships in April, he posted six personal bests and was the silver medalist in the 500 free (4:33.39).<\/p>\n<p>He told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #d1d13f;\"><strong>&#8220;I am happy to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Wyoming to further my academic and athletic career. I want to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for all of the support over the years. Wyoming is a special place and Coach Dave, Coach Jim, and Coach Harmilee have a program ready for the national stage. I can\u2019t wait to be a cowboy!!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>His best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>200 free &#8211; 1:43.56<\/li>\n<li>500 free &#8211; 4:33.39<\/li>\n<li>1000 free &#8211; 9:31.73<\/li>\n<li>1650 free &#8211; 15:53.68<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mitchell will add more depth to Wyoming&#8217;s distance training squad when he arrives on campus in the fall of 2019. He will have one year of overlap with top returning Cowboy\u00a0<strong>Seth Borgert,\u00a0<\/strong>the 1650 runner-up at the 2018 WAC Championships.
