The FINA Swimming World Cup concluded with the second day of stop one in Kazan, Russia.<\/p>\n

Some of the world\u2019s biggest names in swimming looked to finish the meet strong.<\/p>\n

DAY 3 RESULTS<\/a><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 400 IM<\/h3>\n

Hungary made it a sweep of the 400 IM. After Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> won the event on Saturday, David Verraszto<\/strong> duplicated the feat on Sunday.<\/p>\n

He won the event in 4:20.68, four seconds off his own World Cup Record set in 2015. But it also was four seconds ahead of the rest of the field, enough for an easy victory.<\/p>\n

Eduard Valiakhmetov<\/strong> was second in 4:24.57, followed by Nikolay Sokolov<\/strong>, who finished in 4:25 even.<\/p>\n

Hungary\u2019s Daniel Dudas<\/strong> was fourth in 4:29.28.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 800 Free<\/h3>\n

China got on the board with a huge victory in the women\u2019s 800 free as Zhou Chanzhen<\/strong> crushed the field to win in 8:35.03.<\/p>\n

She was more than 11 seconds ahead of runner-up Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> of Hungary, who finished in 8:46.48.<\/p>\n

Hungary\u2019s Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> finished third in 8:59.53, the only other swimmer to break 9 minutes.<\/p>\n

Valeria Ermakova<\/strong> was fourth in 9:06.28.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n

Another victory for Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> and another World Cup record. After setting the women\u2019s 100 fly mark during prelims Sunday, she went even faster in finals.<\/p>\n

Sjostrom won the race in 57.42, breaking the mark of 57.56 that she set in prelims to share the record with Japan\u2019s Rikako Ikee<\/strong>, who reached that time in 2015.<\/p>\n

Now, Sjostrom has the record all to herself.<\/p>\n

Belgium\u2019s Kimberly Buys<\/strong> finished second in 58.33, followed by Switzerland\u2019s Alexandra Touretski<\/strong> (59.17) and a pair of Dutch swimmers, Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> (59.20) and Kim Busch<\/strong> (59.92).<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 50 Fly<\/h3>\n

Make it two World Cup records in a row. One event after Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> cruised to a World Cup record in the 100 fly, Andrii Govorov<\/strong> of the Ukraine set one in the 50 fly.<\/p>\n

Govorov swam the 50 fly in 22.87 seconds, breaking the previous record of 23.23 set by South Africa\u2019s Chad le Clos<\/strong> in 2015.<\/p>\n

Michael Andrew of the U.S. was second in 23.19, also bettering the mark set by le Clos. It is the second time this meet that Andrew has broken a previous World Cup record only to finish second in the race.<\/p>\n

Russia\u2019s Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> was third at 23.38, followed by compatriot Oleg Kostin<\/strong> (23.42).<\/p>\n

South Africa\u2019s Ryan Coetzee<\/strong> was fifth (23.45), followed by Jesse Puts<\/strong> of the Netherlands (23.79).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 Back<\/h3>\n

Hungary\u2019s Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> won yet another World Cup title, winning the 200 back.<\/p>\n

Hosszu, who has reached double digits in number of events swum this weekend, won the 200 back in 2:10.13.<\/p>\n

Irina Prikhodko<\/strong> was second in 2:11.00,followed by Tatiana Salcutan<\/strong> (2:11.42).<\/p>\n

Kira Toussaint<\/strong> of the Netherlands was next at 2:13.37.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 100 Back<\/h3>\n

Australia\u2019s Mitch Larkin<\/strong> was first at the turn and cruised to victory in the 100 back, finishing in 53.99.<\/p>\n

Michael Andrew<\/strong> of the U.S. was fourth at the turn but moved up to finish runner-up for the second straight race in 54.36.<\/p>\n

Russia\u2019s Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> was third in 55.08, followed by Dmitrii Maltcev<\/strong> (55.25).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 50 Breast<\/h3>\n

Russia\u2019s Yulia Efimova<\/strong> flirted with a World Cup Record during her race, but touched just short of the record, still winning the 50 breast in 30.92.<\/p>\n

The World Cup record is held by Jamaica\u2019s Alia Atkinson<\/strong>, who clocked a 30.26 in 2015.<\/p>\n

Efimova led a 1-2-4 finish for Russia.<\/p>\n

Natalia Ivaneeva<\/strong> was second in 31.33, followed by Agne Seleikaite<\/strong> (31.54) of Lithuania and Russia\u2019s Daria Chikunova<\/strong> (31.59).<\/p>\n

Adelaide Pchelinktseva<\/strong> of Kazakstan was fifth in 32.24.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 200 Breast<\/h3>\n

Russia\u2019s Anton Chupkov<\/strong> used a late move to win the 200 breast, setting a World Cup record in the process.<\/p>\n

Chupkov was fourth at the 50, then second at the 100 before making his move to lead at the 150 and bring it home with a record.<\/p>\n

He finished in 2:07.59, breaking the mark set by Germany\u2019s Marco Koch<\/strong> in 2015 (2:08.77).<\/p>\n

Chupkov led the field by more than two seconds.<\/p>\n

Kirill Prigoda<\/strong> was the runner-up at 2:09.785, followed by Russia\u2019s Mikhail Dorinov<\/strong> (2:09.86) and Arno Kamminga<\/strong> of the Netherlands (2:12.07).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 Free<\/h3>\n

It wasn\u2019t quite a World Cup record, but Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> cruised to another victory in Kazan.<\/p>\n

The Swedish superstar won the 100 free in 52.99, just three hundredths of a second off the World Cup record set by Australia\u2019s Cate Campbell<\/strong> in 2015.<\/p>\n

Sjostrom split a 25.58 and led at the turn and used a 27.41 second split to earn the victory.<\/p>\n

A trio of Dutch swimmers followed as Femke Heemskerk<\/strong> (53.63), Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> (53.71) and Kim Busch<\/strong> (55.28) went 2-3-4.<\/p>\n

Russia\u2019s Elizaveta Klevanovich<\/strong> was fifth in 55.53.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 200 Free<\/h3>\n

Blake Pieroni<\/strong> of the U.S. started strong and ended strong to earn a World Cup victory in the 200 free.<\/p>\n

Pieroni led at the 50 (24.37), the 100 (51.42), the 150 (1:19) and won easily in 1:47.32.<\/p>\n

He finished nearly a second ahead of runner-up Chad le Clos<\/strong> of South Africa, who finished in 1:48.10.<\/p>\n

Kyle Stolk<\/strong> of the Netherlands was third in1:49.67, followed by China\u2019s Wu Yuhang<\/strong> (1:51.19) and Hungary\u2019s Daniel<\/strong> Dudas<\/strong> (1:51.27).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 IM<\/h3>\n

Hungary\u2019s Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> had a stellar opening meet of the World Cup and finished her time in Kazan with another crushing victory.<\/p>\n

Hosszu won the 200 IM in 2:12.71 to beat the rest of the field by at least two seconds.<\/p>\n

Compatriot Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> was once again right behind Hosszu, this time finishing in 2:14.81.<\/p>\n

China\u2019s Zhang Sishi<\/strong> was third in 2:14.87, followed by Russia\u2019s Irina Krivonogova<\/strong> (2:16.27) and Anastasiia Sorokina<\/strong> (2:16.96).<\/p>\n

Mixed 4×100 Medley Relay<\/h3>\n

The first stop of the World Cups season concluded with the mixed 4×100 medley relay and the Dutch finished on a high note.<\/p>\n

Kira Toussaint, Arno Kamminga, Mathys Goosen<\/strong> and Femke Heemskerk<\/strong> of the Netherlands won the event in 3:46.10.<\/p>\n

Russia\u2019s Vladimir Morozov, Yulia Efimova, Egor Kuimo<\/strong>v and Mariia Kameneva<\/strong> took second in 3:47.77.<\/p>\n

Hungary\u2019s Katinka Hosszu, David Verraszto, Daniel Dudas<\/strong> and Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> took third in 3:57.88.<\/p>\n
