LAUSANNE, Switzerland, November 29. THE seventh edition of the FINA Synchronised Swimming World Trophy will be organised from November 30 to December 2, 2012 in Mexico City (State of Mexico, MEX).<\/p>\n
The national federations of Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, Great Britain, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine and USA have entered the competition. <\/p>\n
The programme includes a Synchro Highlight routine, Thematic Duet, Solo Exhibition, Thematic Team and Free Combination. To encourage innovation and creativity, scores are given for artistic impression only and rules allow the use of accessories, thus enhancing the spectacular dimension of the event. The Solo Exhibition will not be judged. <\/p>\n
Spain holds three titles in the event (2008, 2010 and 2011) while Russia triumphed in the first two editions (2006, 2007) and Canada won at home in 2009. Strong rivals include the teams of China, Japan and Ukraine. <\/p>\n
A total of US$ 172,500 in prize money will be on offer.<\/p>\n
