He informed Indiana State Director of Athletics\u00a0<strong><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/gosycamores.com\/staff.aspx?staff=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener smarttag\" rev=\"1\">Sherard Clinkscales<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong>\u00a0of his decision Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I must begin by saying what a fantastic staff Sherard has assembled at Indiana State,&#8221; Rowan said. &#8220;With his passion and leadership, along with the great resources he has invested in the ISU swimming and diving program they absolutely have the ability to win the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in the future. The decision to stay at the University of Nebraska is one that I am making for my family. After a lot of talking and praying with my wife, it has become clear that moving our family now isn&#8217;t right for us. I truly wish I had come to the decision sooner, but I know that this will be for the best.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The search for a replacement is already underway.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While disappointed that Patrick Rowan has decided to return to Nebraska, we have activated a plan to move the program forward,&#8221; ISU Director of Athletics\u00a0<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/gosycamores.com\/staff.aspx?staff=1\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"1\">Sherard Clinkscales<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0said. &#8220;I fully respect coach Rowan&#8217;s decision to put the needs of his family first.
