DUBAI, UAE, November 15. A pair of meet marks tumbled during the first night of long course meter swimming at the Asian Games in Dubai. <\/p>\n
Olympic hero Sun Yang broke the meet record in the men's 200 free with a 1:45.49. That swim crushed the 1:48.88 set by Zhang Lin back in 2009. Hao Yun took second in 1:49.87, while Japan's Takumi Komatsu placed third in 1:50.68. Sun's time is not far back of his lifetime best of 1:44.93 from the Olympics this summer that ranks him ninth in the event. <\/p>\n
China's Wang Shun demolished the meet mark in the men's 400 IM with a 4:16.59, far surpassing the 4:20.43 clocked by Zhao Tao back in 2006. Japan's Keita Sunama finished second in 4:19.75, while China's Liu Weijia earned third in 4:21.25. Wang has been much faster with a 4:11.61 that ranks 16th all time on his resume. <\/p>\n
China's Li Xiayan topped the men's 50 breast in 28.10, just missing the meet record of 28.03 set by Singapore's Parker Lam in 2009. Japan's Yoshiki Yamanaka took second in 28.63, while Hong Kong's Chun Yan Wong earned third in 28.67. <\/p>\n
China's Zhao Jing cruised to victory in the women's 50 back with a 27.83, while teammate Fu Yuanhui placed second in 28.12. Singapore's Tao Li earned third in 29.19. Korea's Gyucheoi Chang claimed the men's 100 fly in 52.73, while China's Chen Yin took second in 53.14. Japan's Takeshi Kawamoto earned third in 53.17. <\/p>\n
China's Tang Yi topped the women's 100 free in 54.90, while Qiu Yuhan finished second in 55.96. Tang just missed the meet record of 54.84 clocked by Li Zhesi in 2009. Japan's Mao Kawakami placed third in 56.62. Japan's Hiroko Makino won the women's 400 IM in 4:45.76, while China's Qiao Qiao touched second in 4:46.60. Vietnam's Nguyen Thi Anh Vien finished third in 4:48.23. <\/p>\n
