The 2018 Asian Games continued with the Day 4 preliminaries from Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Some of the biggest names in swimming put together some impressive performances, including Asian Games records from China’s Yan Zibei<\/strong> and Japan’s mixed medley relay.<\/p>\n

Here is what happened at the Day 4 prelims:<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 100 Fly<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Joseph Schooling<\/strong> looked strong as a new professional, cruising to the top seed in the men\u2019s 100 butterfly to open the day\u2019s events.<\/p>\n

Schooling, from Singapore, finished with the top spot in 52.31.<\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s Yuki Kobori<\/strong> took the second seed at 52.47, followed by China\u2019s Zhuhao Li<\/strong> (52.50), Singapore\u2019s Zheng Wen Quah<\/strong> (52.76), Kazakhstan\u2019s Adilbek Mussin<\/strong> (52.99), Korea\u2019s Gyucheol<\/strong> Chang<\/strong> (53.20), Indonesia\u2019s Glenn Victor Sutanto<\/strong> (52.39) and Japan\u2019s Nao Horomura<\/strong> (53.30).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s Chihiro Igarashi<\/strong> swam to a comfortable first seed in the women\u2019s 200 free, earning the top spot by more than a second.<\/p>\n

She clocked a 2:00.21 to hold the top seed heading into finals.<\/p>\n

China\u2019s Junxuan Yang<\/strong> (2:02.30) and Bingjie Li<\/strong> (2:01.43) took the second and third seeds, respectively.<\/p>\n

Hong Kong\u2019s Camille Cheng<\/strong> was fourth (2:01.68), followed by Japan\u2019s Yui Ohashi<\/strong> (2:02.41), Thailand\u2019s Natthanan Junkrajang<\/strong> (2:02.49), Jasmine Alkhaldi<\/strong> (2:02.53) of the Philippines and Kornkarnjana Sapianchai<\/strong> (2:02.55).<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 100 Breast<\/strong><\/p>\n

The session got even faster in the 100 breast as China\u2019s Yan Zibei<\/strong> broke the Asian Games record to take the top seed in 59.91.<\/p>\n

Kazakhstan\u2019s Dmitriy Balandin<\/strong> was a close second in 1:00.07, which could set up a pretty epic final.<\/p>\n

China\u2019s Qin Haiyang<\/strong> took the third seed in 1:00.78, followed by Japan\u2019s Ippei Watanabe<\/strong> (1:00.93), Uzbekistan\u2019s Vladislav Mustafin<\/strong> (1:01.04), Korea\u2019s Jaekwon Moon<\/strong> (1:01.17), Japan\u2019s Yasuhrio Koseki<\/strong> (1:01.35) and Singapore\u2019s Chien Khoo<\/strong> (1:02.00).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 Fly<\/strong><\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s Suzuka Hasegawa<\/strong> kept the speed going in the 200 fly, taking the top seed in 2:09.95.<\/p>\n

China\u2019s Zhang Yufei<\/strong> followed, nearly a second behind, in 2:10.83.<\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s Sachi Mochica<\/strong> took the third seed in 2:11.87, followed by Vietnam\u2019s Thi My Thao Ie<\/strong> (2:12.14), Korea\u2019s Sehyeon An<\/strong> (2:12.22), Singapore\u2019s Jing Wen Quah<\/strong> (2:13.35), Indonesia\u2019s Adinda Larasti Dewi<\/strong> (2:14.10) and China\u2019s Yu Liyan<\/strong> (2:14.56).<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 400 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n

Japan continued its strong performances in the individual medley events, taking the top two seeds in the 400 IM \u2014 just one hundredth of a second apart.<\/p>\n

Daiya Seto<\/strong> took the top seed at 4:16.16, edging compatriot Kosuke Hagino<\/strong> (4:16.17), setting up a Japanese duel in the final.<\/p>\n

China\u2019s Wang Shun<\/strong> (4:18.67) and Wang Yizhe<\/strong> (4:21.55) took the third and fourth seeds, respectively.<\/p>\n

Korea\u2019s Minsuk Kim<\/strong> was fifth (4:21.95), followed by Chinese Taipei\u2019s Chengchi Cho<\/strong> (4:23.01), Korea\u2019s Jaegu Joo<\/strong> (4:23.86) and Vietnam\u2019s Huu Nguyen<\/strong> (4:27.18).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 Back<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was another 1-2 finish for Japan to close out the individual prelims for the day, this time in the women\u2019s 100 back.<\/p>\n

Anna Konish<\/strong>i took the top seed in 1:00.44, and keeping with the theme of being extremely close, Natsumi Sakai<\/strong> was second in 1:00.53, setting up yet another showdown in the finals.<\/p>\n

China\u2019s Chen Jie<\/strong> took the third seed in 1:00.84, followed by Hong Kong\u2019s Hoi Shun Au<\/strong> (1:01.31), Toto Wong<\/strong> (1:01.92), China\u2019s Fu Yuanhui<\/strong> (1:02.41), Korea\u2019s Youngyeon Shin<\/strong> (1:02.57) and Dasol Im<\/strong> (1:02.58).<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 4×100 Free Relay<\/strong><\/p>\n

China\u2019s Hou Yujie, Qian Zhiyong, Ma Bianch<\/strong>i and Ji Xinjie<\/strong> got off to a fast start and coasted to the top seed in the 400 free relay.<\/p>\n

Japan was second in 3:18.25, followed by Singapore (3:20.16), Korea (3:21.16) and Chinese Taipei (3:21.89).<\/p>\n

Mixed 4×100 Medley Relay<\/strong><\/p>\n

The session ended with some serious speed as Japan broke the Asian Games record for fastest mixed 400 medley relay.<\/p>\n

Masaki Kaneko, Ippei Watanabe, Rikako Ikee<\/strong> and Mayuka Yamamoto<\/strong> combined to take the top seed in 3:38.89.<\/p>\n

China was second in 3:53.29, followed by Korea (3:55.46), Indonesia (3:55.56) and Hong Kong (3:56.62).<\/p>\n
