The 2018 Asian Games continued with the Day 3 preliminaries from Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Some of the biggest names in swimming put together some impressive performances in the first two days of the meet. Sun Yang<\/strong> and Rikako Ikee<\/strong> were in the mix with strong prelim swims.<\/p>\n

Here is what happened in the Day 3 prelims:<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 50 Back<\/strong><\/h3>\n

China started the third day of the meet with a strong finish, taking the top two seeds in the women\u2019s 50 backstroke.<\/p>\n

Xiang Liu<\/strong> took the top spot in 27.83, followed by Yuanhui Fu<\/strong>, who finished in 28.12.<\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s Natsumi Sakai<\/strong> took the third spot at 28.25, followed by Korea\u2019s Hanbyeol Park<\/strong> (28.69) and Japan\u2019s Anna Konishi<\/strong> (28.69), who tied for the fourth seed.<\/p>\n

Hong Kong went 6-7 behind Hoi Au<\/strong> (28.81) and Toto Wong<\/strong> (28.94) and Korea\u2019s Youngyeon Shin<\/strong> was eighth (29.10).<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 50 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just four tenths of a second separate the top seed and the eighth seed in the men\u2019s 50 freestyle, which should set up a pretty exciting final.<\/p>\n

China\u2019s Hexin Yu<\/strong> took the top seed at 22.21, nearly two tenths ahead of Hong Kong\u2019s Kenneth To<\/strong> (22.38).<\/p>\n

India\u2019s Virdhawal Vikram Khade t<\/strong>ook the third seed in 22.43, followed by Japan\u2019s Katsumi Nakamura<\/strong> (22.50), Singapore\u2019s Tzen Wei Teong<\/strong> (22.56), Chinese Taipei\u2019s Chienliang Lin<\/strong> (22.60), Japan\u2019s Shunichi Nakao<\/strong> (22.62) and Kazakstan\u2019s Adilbek Mussin<\/strong> (22.63).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 400 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 400 IM prelims quickly turned in to a set up for a showdown in the finals between Japan\u2019s Yui Ohashi<\/strong> and China\u2019s Min Zhou<\/strong>. Both competitors were three seconds faster than the rest of the field and within a second of each other.<\/p>\n

Shashi took the top seed in 4:42.11, ahead of Zhou (4:42.83).<\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s Sakiko Shimizu<\/strong> took the third seed in 4:45.88, followed by Vietnam\u2019s Thi Anh Vien Nguyen<\/strong> (4:47.56), Korea\u2019s Seoyeong Kim<\/strong> (4:48.59) and China\u2019s Chang Yang<\/strong> (4:53.56).<\/p>\n

Indonesia\u2019s Azzara Permatahani<\/strong> took the seventh spot at 4:53.58 and Hong Kong\u2019s Hoi Kiu Lam<\/strong> took the eighth seed at 4:58.54.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 200 Breast<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Japanese 1-2 punch in the breaststroke took care of business in the 200 breast prelims as Ippei Watanabe<\/strong> (2:11.92) and Yasuhiro Koseki<\/strong> (2:12.77) took the No. 1 and No. 3 seeds, respectively, sandwiched around China\u2019s Zibei Yan<\/strong> (2:12.45).<\/p>\n

Kyrgyzstan\u2019s Denis Petrashov<\/strong> took the fourth seed in 2:12.89, followed by China\u2019s Haiyang Qin<\/strong> (2:13.51), Korea\u2019s Sungjae Cho<\/strong> (2:14.05), Macau\u2019s Man Hou Chao<\/strong> (2:15.34) and Jordan\u2019s Amro Al<\/strong> Wir<\/strong> (2:16.15).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 Fly<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rikako Ikee<\/strong> has been one of the world\u2019s most dominant swimmers this year and she is in the mix for another championship after the prelims of the 100 fly.<\/p>\n

Ikee has the second seed at 57.81, just behind China\u2019s Yufei Zhang (<\/strong>57.68), setting up what should be an entertaining duel in the final.<\/p>\n

Korea\u2019s Sehyeon An<\/strong> took the third seed at 58.97, followed by Japan\u2019s Ai Soma<\/strong> (59.16), Korea\u2019s Yerin Park<\/strong> (59.57), China\u2019s Xintong Lin<\/strong> (59.94), Singapore\u2019s Jing Wen Quah<\/strong> (1:00.08) and Hong Kong\u2019s Kin Lok Chan<\/strong> (1:00.39).<\/p>\n

Singapore\u2019s Ting Wen Quah<\/strong> (1:00.41) missed the final by two hundredths of a second.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 400 Free
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sun Yang<\/strong> cruised to the top seed in the men\u2019s 400 free to close out the individual preliminaries for Day 3.<\/p>\n

The Chinese star finished in 3:49.13, to finish ahead of Kosuke Hagino<\/strong> (3:50.67).<\/p>\n

Korea\u2019s Hojoon Lee<\/strong> took the third seed in 3:52.80, followed by China\u2019s Ji Xinjie<\/strong> (3:53.11), Japan\u2019s Naito Ehara<\/strong> (3:53.24), Vietnam\u2019s Huu Kim Son Nguyen<\/strong> (3::54.01), Jordan\u2019s Khader Ghetrich<\/strong> Baqlah<\/strong> (3:54.27) and Indonesia\u2019s Aflah Fadlan Prawira<\/strong> (3:54.45).<\/p>\n
