She will join the Blue Devils with three years of eligibility remaining.<\/p>\n<p>Scannell is coming off a very successful rookie campaign with the Quakers. At\u00a0the 2018 Ivy League Championships, she took\u00a0down both the Penn school record and Ivy League mark in the 200 back with a winning time of 1:54.64 in addition to placing second in the 100 back (53.57) and 13th in the 50 free (23.26). Her 100 back is also a Penn program record.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>\u201cI am thrilled to have Quinn Scannell joining us here at Duke,\u201d Duke head coach Dan Colella said in a press release. \u201cShe is coming off an amazing season of swimming and will add additional firepower to an already deep and talented group of freshmen. She also comes with collegiate experience which is an added bonus. We are looking forward to her arrival.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Before arriving at Penn, Scannell grew up in Greenwich, Conn. where she was a high school All-American for Greenwich Academy in the 200 free and 500 free as well as the 4&#215;50 and 4&#215;100 freestyle relays. She is still the NEPSAC record-holder in the 200 free (1:48.01) and 4&#215;100 free relay. She did her club swimming with Badger Swim Club.<\/p>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 back &#8211; 25.60<\/li>\n<li>100 back &#8211; 53.57<\/li>\n<li>200 back &#8211; 1:54.64<\/li>\n<li>50 free &#8211; 23.26<\/li>\n<li>100 free &#8211; 50.40<\/li>\n<li>200 free &#8211; 1:48.01<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Scannell&#8217;s best 200 back time would&#8217;ve put her in the B-Final at the 2018 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, while her 100 back would&#8217;ve been fast enough for the C-Final.
