The coach in question, <\/span><b>Will Bohonyi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, is a defendant in the lawsuit, as is USA Diving. The plaintiffs, who are three female divers, argue that Bohonyi sexually abused and exploited them and claim that USA Diving did not do enough after banning him. Bohonyi was put on USA Diving\u2019s banned list of athletes in 2015. Bick<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Americans <\/span><b>Jordan Wilimovsky <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Haley Anderson <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/jordan-wilimovsky-haley-anderson-win-pan-pac-open-water-10k\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">completed a sweep of the open water events at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the day after the pool competition wrapped up. Wilimovsky won the men\u2019s 10K open water race in 1:58.50.5, finishing six seconds ahead of Canadian <\/span><b>Eric Hedlin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Anderson, who is coming off an amazing Nationals where she had multiple best times, won the women\u2019s 10K in 2:08.24.8, beating out Australia\u2019s <\/span><b>Kareena Lee <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and Brazil\u2019s <\/span><b>Ana Marcela Cunha<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who were just one and two seconds behind her, respectively. Gyarfas was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/former-hungary-swimming-head-tamas-gyarfas-arrested-for-murder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">arrested back in April<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on suspicion of ordering the murder of media business rival <\/span><b>Janos Fenyo <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">back in 1998. Gyarfas was the head of the Hungarian Swimming Federation from 1993 to 2006, and has also held high level positions in European and international swimming federations while also serving as the leader of Hungary\u2019s Olympic Committee. China\u2019s <\/span><b>Xu Jiayu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> broke the first Games record of the night, winning the 100 backstroke in 52.34 over Japan\u2019s <\/span><b>Ryosuke Irie <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to tie Irie\u2019s record from 2014. Jiayu was the 2017 World Champion in the event, and his time puts his second in the world behind American and world record holder <\/span><b>Ryan Murphy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Japan\u2019s <\/span><b>Satomi Suzuki <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">went 1-2 with teammate <\/span><b>Reona Aoki <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the 100 breaststroke, breaking the Games record with 1:06.40, while the 4&#215;100 freestyle relay team of <\/span><b>Rikako Ikee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (53.60), <\/span><b>Natsumi Sakai<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (54.81), <\/span><b>Tomomi Aoki<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (54.21) and <\/span><b>Chihiro Igarashi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (53.90)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">closed the first night of finals with a win and new Japanese record.
