The Hinsdale, Ill. native will join the Redhawks as a member of the class of 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Lundgren does his club swimming with WEST Swim Club where he is a Junior National qualifier in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke.\u00a0The NISCA All-American competed at the Speedo Champion Series in Iowa City this past summer, notching personal bests in three different events.<\/p>\n<p>Also representing Hinsdale Central High School,\u00a0Lundgren finished fifth in the 100 breast (56.32) at the 2018 IHSA Boys State Championships as a junior after placing seventh (57.52) during his sophomore campaign. He shares the school record in the 100 breast and owns the 200 medley relay record along with Redhawk rising freshman\u00a0<strong>Cole Grosshans.\u00a0<\/strong>His high school coach,\u00a0<strong>Bob Barber<\/strong>, graduated from Miami Ohio in 1996.<\/p>\n<p>He told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>&#8220;I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Miami University.\u00a0 Miami felt like the perfect fit the minute I stepped on Oxford\u2019s campus. Miami\u2019s team culture, great academic focus and coaching philosophy made me feel like I was home. Huge thanks to Coach Hollie Bonewit-Cron and Coach Ryan Rich for this amazing opportunity and to my family, friends, coaches and teachers for helping to make my dream come true. GO REDHAWKS! Love and Honor.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>His best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 breast &#8211; 26.46<\/li>\n<li>100 breast &#8211; 56.32<\/li>\n<li>200 breast &#8211; 2:05.33<\/li>\n<li>200 IM &#8211; 1:58.32<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lundgren will add more depth to the Redhawks&#8217; breaststroke group when he arrives on campus for the 2019-20 season. He will have two seasons to train with\u00a0<strong>Noah Barr\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Blake\u00a0<\/strong><b>Brockman,\u00a0<\/b>Miami&#8217;s two top returning breaststrokers.
