{"id":325485,"date":"2018-08-12T12:58:09","date_gmt":"2018-08-12T19:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=325485"},"modified":"2018-08-12T12:58:09","modified_gmt":"2018-08-12T19:58:09","slug":"janik-wing-sends-verbal-to-lehigh-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/janik-wing-sends-verbal-to-lehigh-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Janik Wing Sends Verbal to Lehigh University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NEW COMMIT: Janik Wing\u00a0<\/strong>has announced his verbal commitment to swim for Lehigh University as part of the class of 2023.\u00a0A native of Center Valley, Pa., he will stay in-state and compete for the Mountain Hawks beginning in the fall of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Primarily a butterflyer, Wing swims year-round with Emmaus Aquatic Club where he won the 100 fly (56.87) at the Eastern Senior Zone Long Course Championships earlier this month.\u00a0Competing for Southern Lehigh High School, he recorded a third-place showing in the 200 IM (1:59.98) and finished fifth in the 100 fly (52.05) at the PIAA District XI AAA Championships as a junior.<\/p>\n<p>He told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #735d07;\"><strong>&#8220;I absolutely love Lehigh for all it has to offer academically and athletically. Lehigh has a competitive team with dedicated coaches and unrivaled spirit. I would like to thank my coaches, teammates, friends, and family for helping me get here.
