Teramura followed in the footsteps of teammate\u00a0<strong>Rikako Ikee\u00a0<\/strong>who broke the twelve-year-old meet record in the 100 fly, taking down the legendary Australian\u00a0<strong>Jessicah Schipper&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>meet record from 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Teramura swam a 2:09.86 in the 200 IM heats, breaking the meet record of 2:09.93 by\u00a0<strong>Maya DiRado\u00a0<\/strong>from 2014 and\u00a0<strong>Emily Seebohm\u00a0<\/strong>from 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Teramura is ahead of Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sydney Pickrem\u00a0<\/strong>(2:10.07) and Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yui Ohashi\u00a0<\/strong>(2:10.23), who both reached the final at the World Championships last summer, with Ohashi winning the silver medal.<\/p>\n<p>The Americans will have\u00a0<strong>Ella Eastin\u00a0<\/strong>(2:10.25) and\u00a0<strong>Melanie Margalis\u00a0<\/strong>(2:11.18) in the final tonight. Those two pushed out 2018 National Champion\u00a0<strong>Kathleen Baker\u00a0<\/strong>out of the final.
