Efimova split 1:03.95 on the breaststroke leg, the first sub-1:04 split ever recorded<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anastasia Fesikova<\/strong> (59.56), Efimova,\u00a0<strong>Svetlana Chimrova\u00a0<\/strong>(57.34) and\u00a0<strong>Mariia Kameneva\u00a0<\/strong>(53.37) combined for a time of 3:54.22, smashing the championship record of 3:55.62 set by Denmark in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Denmark finished second here as\u00a0<strong>Mie Nielsen<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Rikke Moeller Pedersen<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Emilie Beckmann<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Pernille Blume\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 3:56.69. Blume&#8217;s 51.77 anchor split was the fastest in the field.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s squad of\u00a0<strong>Georgia Davies<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Siobhan-Marie O&#8217;Connor<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Alys Thomas\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Freya Anderson\u00a0<\/strong>took bronze in 3:56.91. The 17-year-old Anderson, who already anchored two relays to gold medals this week, split 52.69 to just edge out Italy (3:57.00) for the final spot on the podium. Italian anchor\u00a0<strong>Federica Pellegrini\u00a0<\/strong>dove into the pool in second, but she didn&#8217;t have enough at the end, splitting 53.30.<\/p>\n<p>The Netherlands finished fifth in 3:58.94 after\u00a0<strong>Femke Heemskerk\u00a0<\/strong>anchored in 52.84. The final also included France (3:59.85), Germany (4:01.10) and Hungary (4:04.58).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"324898\"
