He finished 16-hundredths ahead of last year&#8217;s World champion in the event, Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ben Proud<\/strong>, who came in at 23.01.<\/p>\n<p>Greece&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kristian Gkolomeev\u00a0<\/strong>qualified third in 23.22, and fourth was Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Damian Wierling\u00a0<\/strong>(23.34). Poland&#8217;s <strong>Konrad Czerniak<\/strong> and Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrea Vergani<\/strong> tied for fifth in 23.37, ahead of the Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Nyls Jan Korstanje<\/strong> (23.38) and Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Oleg Kostin\u00a0<\/strong>(23.41).<\/p>\n<p>Hungarian legend\u00a0<strong>Laszlo Cseh\u00a0<\/strong>finished ninth at 23.48, just missing the final.
