The final day of the Rochester Futures featured more dominating swims as the valiant swimmers and teams fully emerged. Nasa Wildcat\u2019s <\/span>Carly Novelline<\/b> snagged the title of sprint queen by winning both the 50 free and 100 free along with Central Iowa\u2019s <\/span>Cameron Linder<\/b> sweeping both IM events today. The most dominant performance went to Central Iowa\u2019s <\/span>Trent Frandson<\/b>, as he achieved his third win of the meet in the 800 free. <\/span><\/p>\n

For the women’s individual high point, <\/span>Ana Herceg<\/b> of Nitro dominated with 80 points by winning the 200 free and 400 free, taking second in the 200 back, seventh in the 400 IM, and eighth in the 100 free.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the men\u2019s side, Central Iowa\u2019s Frandson took the title with 71 points by sweeping the 200 free, 400 free, and 800 free along with a top eight appearance in the 100 free.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both teams from each gender sustained their leads from the past few days of competition to win the titles for each side. The men of Lakeside Aquatic Club and the ladies of Jeffco Hurricanes took their titles with 417.50 points and 348.50 points, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 Free<\/b><\/h3>\n

Sweeping both women\u2019s sprint events was Nasa Wildcat\u2019s <\/span>Carly Novelline<\/b> with a time of 57.18. Touching in shortly after was North Suburban\u2019s <\/span>Pyper Doo<\/b> (57.29) and Cypress Fairbanks\u2019s <\/span>Sydney Stanford<\/b> (57.91).<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 100 Free<\/b><\/h3>\n

In a close race for first, Denison post-grad <\/span>Stuart Hohm<\/b>, swimming for Springfield YMCA, touched in at 52.30. Just five one-hundredths behind was Nitro\u2019s <\/span>Corby Furrer<\/b> at 52.35. Finishing off the top three was Cypress Fairbanks\u2019s <\/span>Alexander Ellison<\/b> at 52.61.<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 800 Free<\/b><\/h3>\n

Taking his third win of the meet was Central Iowa\u2019s Frandson at 8:24.99. Just over six seconds behind was Black Hawk\u2019s <\/span>Dylan Moffatt<\/b> at 8:31.68. Taking third was American Energy\u2019s <\/span>Hunter Denison<\/b> at 8:33.32.<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 Back<\/b><\/h3>\n

After taking second in the 100 back, Club Husker\u2019s <\/span>Jessica Pentlarge<\/b> took the 200 back win with a time of 2:17.46. <\/span><\/p>\n

Coming in second place was 200 and 400 free champion Herceg of Nitro at 2:17.69. Taking third place was 400 IM and 100 back champion <\/span>Riley Tapley<\/b> of Jeffco Hurricanes at 2:18.58.<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 200 Back<\/b><\/h3>\n

After two second place finishes in the 400 IM and 100 back, Cypress Fairbanks\u2019s <\/span>Elliott Jones<\/b> took the 200 back title with a time of 2:06.13.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tying for second place was Lakeside\u2019s <\/span>Johan Pretorius <\/b>and Magnolia\u2019s <\/span>Eric Stelmar<\/b> at 2:07.29.<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 1500 Free<\/b><\/h3>\n

Winning the longest event of the meet repertoire, Nitro\u2019s <\/span>Madeline Riley<\/b> took the title at 17:22.18. In second place was Texas Ford\u2019s <\/span>Clare Vetkoetter<\/b> at 17:29.00, third went to Club Husker\u2019s <\/span>Kaylyn Flatt<\/b> at 17:32.12.<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 IM<\/b><\/h3>\n

12-year-old <\/span>Leah Hayes<\/b> dazzled the top of the women\u2019s 200 IM with a time of 2:19.57. Hayes still maintains her number two spot for the girls all-time 11-12 LCM 200 IM ranks. <\/span><\/p>\n

Linn-Marr\u2019s <\/span>Hayley Kimmel<\/b> took second place with a time of 2:20.34. Friday\u2019s 100 fly champion of Greater Nebraska, <\/span>Caroline Theil<\/b>, took third with a time of 2:20.72.<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 200 IM<\/b><\/h3>\n

Central Iowa\u2019s C. Linder took the win of the final individual to sweep both IM events with a time of 2:08.66.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a tight battle for second place, Alamo\u2019s <\/span>Isaac Barrera<\/b> (2:09.46) overtook Nitro\u2019s <\/span>Vincent Ribeiro<\/b> (2:09.48) by two one-hundredths.<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 400 Medley Relay<\/b><\/h3>\n

To assert their dominance, the Jeffco Hurricanes relay squad of Tapley (1:05.11), <\/span>Katherine McDonald<\/b> (1:13.32), <\/span>Sydney Metzler<\/b> (1:04.77), and <\/span>Katelyn Kenchel<\/b> (57.69) took the win at 4:20.89.<\/span><\/p>\n

Right behind the Hurricanes were the Splash Club ladies (4:21.06) and the Pikes Peak ladies (4:21.39).<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 400 Medley Relay<\/b><\/h3>\n

In the final event of the meet, the Cypress Fairbanks men of 200 back champ Jones (58.36), <\/span>Alek Argueta<\/b> (1:06.66), <\/span>Dillon Simpson<\/b> (57.22), and <\/span>Alexander Ellison<\/b> (51.20) won with a time of 3:53.44.<\/span><\/p>\n

Closing the top three were the relays of Lakeside (3:56.00) and Nitro (3:56.68).<\/span><\/p>\n
