The World Champion followed up his 2:07.70 in prelims with a 2:07.95 in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Luca Pizzini<\/strong>, who led Chupkov for the first 150 meters of their semi-final heat, qualified second in 2:08.52, followed closely by a pair of swimmers from the first semi-final, Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ross Murdoch<\/strong> (2:08.57) and Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kirill Prigoda\u00a0<\/strong>(2:08.63).<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>James Wilby<\/strong>, the silver medalist in the 100 breast behind the great\u00a0<strong>Adam Peaty<\/strong>, qualified fifth in 2:09.59, ahead of Sweden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Erik Persson\u00a0<\/strong>(2:09.84), the Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Arno Kamminga\u00a0<\/strong>(2:10.00) and Lithuania&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrius Sidlauskas<\/strong> (2:10.12).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"323932\"
