Six races this evening featured contenders all finishing within at most one tenth of a second, including a one one-hundredth finish between first and second in the men\u2019s 100 fly. Another evening highlight was 12-year-old <strong>Leah Hayes<\/strong> of Fox Valley moved up two spots to rank fifth all-time in the girls 11-12 LCM 200 free nationally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Taking the lead in the women\u2019s standings are the Jeffco Hurricanes with 155.50 points. The Cypress Fairbanks ladies are now in second at 147 points. Tying in third place are the ladies of Lakeside and Nitro, both with 122 points.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Lakeside men retain their men\u2019s team point lead with 332 points. The Nitro men are in second at 293 points, third are the Cypress Fairbanks men with 220 points.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Results can be found on Meet Mobile under \u201c2018 USA Swimming Futures Championship RSC\u201d or by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2018-rochester-futures-championship-day-two-results-day-2\/usa-senior-national\/2018\/August\/2?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clicking here to view full day two results<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Women\u2019s 200 Free<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After having the fastest 200 free split yesterday in the 800 free relay, Nitro\u2019s <\/span><b>Ana Herceg<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> took the win, clocking in at 2:03.00.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">12-year-old\u00a0<\/span>Hayes<span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of Fox Valley flipped at the 150 mark in fourth place. Hayes blasted a 31.09 last 50 split to take second at 2:04.29, out-touching Springfield YMCA\u2019s <\/span><b>Kaitlynn Wheeler <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(2:04.30) by one one-hundredth. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Men\u2019s 200 Free<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Another hot relay anchor from last night, Central Iowa\u2019s <\/span><b>Trent Frandson<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> took the title at 1:53.83. Taking second was Nitro\u2019s <\/span><b>Corby Furrer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (1:54.95) and rounding out the top three was Springfield YMCA\u2019s <\/span><b>Matthew Knox<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (1:55.46).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Women\u2019s 100 Breast<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Splash Club\u2019s <\/span><b>Haley Downey<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> touched the 50 mark in seventh, yet came back on the rest of the field to win the 100 breast at 1:12.38, chipping nearly two seconds off her prelims time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Runner-up behind Downey was Csp Tideriders\u2019s <\/span><b>Helen Wojdylo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (1:12.61) and taking third place was Ozaukee\u2019s <\/span><b>Brigid Gwidt<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (1:12.91).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Men\u2019s 100 Breast<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Power For Life went 1-2 in the men\u2019s 100 breast with <\/span><b>Charles Bennett<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> taking the win at 1:04.99 and teammate <\/span><b>Jacob Schababerle<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> finishing right behind Bennett at 1:05.14.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Taking third was Dallas Mustangs\u2019s <\/span><b>Henry Wang<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (1:05.98), just out-touching fourth place finisher Waterloo\u2019s <\/span><b>Matthew Lane<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (1:05.99) by one one-hundredth.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Women\u2019s 100 Fly<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Greater Nebraska\u2019s <\/span><b>Caroline Theil<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> won the women\u2019s 100 fly at 1:02.29. Taking second was Cypress Fairbanks\u2019s <\/span><b>Anna Ervin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at 1:02.89 and finishing off the top three was Club Husker\u2019s <\/span><b>Lindsay Helferich<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at 1:02.98.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Men\u2019s 100 Fly<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With a home pool advantage, Rochester\u2019s <\/span><b>Grant Reeves<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> won the 100 fly at 56.85, out-touching runner-up <\/span><b>Rush Clark<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (56.86) of Greater Omaha by one one-hundredth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rounding out the top three by yet another tight finish was Alamo\u2019s <\/span><b>Isaac Barrera<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (56.91), taking down fourth-place finisher Lakeside\u2019s <\/span><b>Tyler Johns<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (56.92).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Women\u2019s 400 IM<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Narrowly missing breaking the five minute mark and winning the women\u2019s 400 IM was Jeffco Hurriances\u2019s <\/span><b>Riley Tapley<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at 5:00.06.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A strong breaststroke leg from Rice\u2019s <\/span><b>Ella Flowers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> got her a second place finish at 5:00.36. Taking another top three finish was Splash\u2019s Downey at 5:01.51.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Men\u2019s 400 IM<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It\u2019s all about the back-half in IM races, and Central Iowa\u2019s <\/span><b>Cameron Linder<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> had that vital strength to win the men\u2019s 400 IM at 4:34.93.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Taking second was Cypress Fairbanks\u2019s <\/span><b>Elliott Jones<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at 4:35.71 and rounding out the top three was Nitro\u2019s <\/span><b>Michael Shay<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at 4:36.43.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Women\u2019s 400 Free Relay<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Cypress Fairbanks relay of <\/span><b>Sydney Stanford <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(59.02), <\/span><b>Anna Ervin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (59.84), <\/span><b>Aislinn Holder <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0(59.86), and <\/span><b>Carson Kaufmann<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (58.38) won the event at 3:57.10. This win aided Cypress Fairbanks to a women\u2019s freestyle relays sweep. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Just four one-hundredths behind was the Springfield YMCA ladies at 3:57.14 and taking third was the Jeffco ladies at 3:57.88.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Men\u2019s 400 Free Relay<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Nitro men also had a freestyle relay sweep with 400 free relay members <\/span><b>William Corona<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0(54.46), <\/span><b>Reilly Gilbert<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (53.74), <\/span><b>Vincent Ribeiro<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (52.93), and anchor Furrer (51.97) clocking in a time of 3:33.10.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Taking second was the Central Iowa men at 3:33.27. The fastest 100 split of the night went to anchor and 200 free champion Frandson, stopping the clock at 51.34. Taking third was the Lakside men at 3:34.15.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The tight races resume tomorrow for day three of the Rochester Futures with the 200 Fly, 50 Free, 200 Breast, 100 Back, and 400 Free.
