The results from tonight&#8217;s session feature many young talents, large time drops, big leads, and close finishes. The meet will be held from August 2-5 in Santa Clara, Calif.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2018-santa-clara-usa-futures-championship-series-day-2-international-elite-2018-08-02.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2018 Santa Clara Futures Day 2 &#8211; Results<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Jennifer Campbell<\/strong> of Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics won the first event of the evening with a time of 2:03.38, over a second faster than the second place finisher. She spilt a 1:00.03 on her first 100 and 1:03.35 on her second. Campbell dropped .85 from her prelims time of 2:04.23, keeping her first place seed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sarah Snyder<\/strong>, also of Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics, took second behind her teammate with a 2:04.65. Snyder dropped 1.98 seconds from her prelims time of 2:06.63, moving up six spots from her eighth place seed.<\/p>\n<p>Tualatin Hills Swim Club&#8217;s <strong>Ryan Falk<\/strong> placed third in the event with a time of 2:04.76. Falk&#8217;s prelims time of 2:05.58 placed her as second seed coming into finals. Despite her time drop of .82 seconds, Falk still lost a place to Snyder in a close race. The two finished only .11 apart.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Free<\/h3>\n<p>Taking first in the event was CCAT Swimming&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zachary Van Zandt\u00a0<\/strong>with a 1:52.33. Van Zandt spilt 55.69 on his first 100 and 56.64 on the second, dropping .93 from his prelims time of 1:53.26 and moving him up from his second seed position. He finished over a second ahead of the second place finalist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ivan Kurakin<\/strong> of North Bay Aquatics placed second with a 1:53.50, moving up from his prelims seed of third place. He dropped .31 from his prelims time of 1:53.81.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daniel Ilin<\/strong> of Wolverine Aquatics finished third overall with a 1:53.63, out touching the fourth place finisher by .01. Ilin dropped 1.26 from his prelins time of 1:54.89, moving up three spots from his sixth place seed.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n<p>14-year-old\u00a0<strong>Lydia Jacoby\u00a0<\/strong>of Seward Tsunami Swim Club won the event with a 1:11.05, dropping 1.88 seconds from her seed time of 1:12.93. Jacoby went a 33.6 on her first 50 and came back in a 37.39. She moved up two places from her prelims seed of third.<\/p>\n<p>Canyons Aquatic Club&#8217;s <strong>Ana Adame<\/strong> placed second with a 1:11.19, dropping 1.08 seconds from her prelims time of 1:12.27. Despite her time drop, the 15-year-old moved down one place from her prior first place seed after a close race against Jacoby.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Larisa Tam<\/strong> of Burlingame Aquatic Club finished third with a time of 1:12.13. Tam dropped 1.17 seconds from her prelims time of 1:13.30, moving up two places from her fifth place seed.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Andrew Britton\u00a0<\/strong>of Ripon Aquatics placed first with a 1:04.47, dropping .94 from his prelims time of 1:05.41 and moving him up from his second place prelims seed. Britton split a 29.95 on his first 50 and a 34.52 on his second.<\/p>\n<p>Dart Swimming&#8217;s<strong> Tom Higdon\u00a0<\/strong>finished second with a time of 1:04.84. Higdon dropped 1.69 seconds from his prelims time of 1:05.54 and moved up once position from his third place seed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Evan McCormick\u00a0<\/strong>of Life Time Northern California came in third with a .18 second drop from his prelims time of 1:05.33, resulting in a 1:05.15. Horner moved from down two spots from his prelims seed of first.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p>Unattached<strong> Katelyn Crom\u00a0<\/strong>finished first with a 1:01.93, adding .69 from her prelims time of 1:01.24. Despite her gain, she held her first place seed and finished over a second ahead of the rest of her heat. Crom split a 29.04 on her first 50 and a 32.89 on her second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tay Alicea-Jorgensen\u00a0<\/strong>of Tucson Ford Dealers Aquatics finished second with a time of 1:02.14. Alicea-Jorgensen dropped .83 from her prelims time of 1:02.97 and moved up four spots from her sixth place seed.<\/p>\n<p>Palo Alto Stanford&#8217;s Campbell had another strong swim, finishing in the top three once again with a time of 1:02.35. She dropped .88 from her prelims time of 1:03.23 and moved up five spots from her tied eighth place seed.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Miles Mackenzie\u00a0<\/strong>of Tiger Aquatics finished first in the event with a time of 55.40, dropping .75 from his prelims time of 56.15. He moved up three spots from his fourth place prelims seed, finishing just ahead of the other competitors. Mackenzie split a 25.75 on his first 50 and a 29.65 on his second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jacoby Leahy\u00a0<\/strong>of Issaquah Swim Team placed second with a 55.68. Leahy dropped .33 from his prelims time of 56.01 and moved up one spot from his prior third place seed.<\/p>\n<p>Swim Utah&#8217;s<strong> Santiago Contreras\u00a0<\/strong>finished third with a 55.90, moving up three spots from his prelims seed of sixth. He dropped .26 from his prelims time of 56.16.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p>Crom placed first again with a 4:56.77, dropping 3.16 seconds from her seed time of 4:59.93. Of the top three finishers, she was the only swimmer to drop from her prelims time. Her three second dropped allowed her to move from her prelims seed of second to first.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benedict Nagy\u00a0<\/strong>of Lakeridge Swim Team finished second with a 5:01.34, gaining .12 from her prelims time of 5:01.22. Despite her small gain, she was able to move up from her prelims seed of third.<\/p>\n<p>FAST Swim Team&#8217;s<strong> Cathryn Salladin\u00a0<\/strong>placed third with a 5:01.47, gaining 2.58 seconds from her prelims time of 4:58.89. She dropped three spots from her prelims seed of first, but beat fourth place finisher\u00a0<strong>Maya Lee<\/strong> by about half a second.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Brandon Shuster\u00a0<\/strong>of Fusion Aquatics placed first with a time of 4:29.41, dropping 2.17 seconds from his prelims time of 4:31.58. Shuster held his first place position throughout the event, finishing over a second and a half ahead of the rest of his heat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nicholas Williams\u00a0<\/strong>of the Mission Viejo Nadadores finished second with a 4:31.12, dropping a whooping 5.56 seconds from his prelims time of 4:36.68. With his drop Williams moved up seven spots from his ninth place seed.<\/p>\n<p>Mesa Aquatics Club&#8217;s<strong> Kyle Benjamin<\/strong> placed third with a time of 4:31.46. He dropped .46 from his prelims time of 4:31.92, but moved down a spot from his second place seed.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 Free Relay<\/h3>\n<p>North Bay Aquatics won the event with a 3:52.83, dropping from their seed time of 3:54.18. North Bay was followed by Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics with a 3:53.54 and Tualatin Hills Swim Club with a 3:55.67. Both Palo Alto Stanford and Tualatin Hills gained from their seed times.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400 Free Relay<\/h3>\n<p>Tiger Aquatics took first in the relay with a 3:27.83, out touching North Bay Aquatics&#8217; time of 3:27.99. They were followed by De Anza Cupertino Aquatics&#8217; B relay with a time of 3:32.26 and A relay with a 3:33.12.
