The Bonnies jumped five spots in the Atlantic 10 women\u2019s standings on the strength of 12 school-record efforts and a Most Outstanding Performer honoree, while the men were headlined by the meet\u2019s Most Outstanding Rookie Performer.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">&#8220;Logan will be a tremendous addition to our staff,\u201d Thomas said. \u201cI always try to surround myself with thoughtful, intelligent people who aren&#8217;t afraid to challenge the status quo &#8211; and Logan certainly fits that mold. Having worked with Logan for the past year, there were two qualities that made him an easy choice for this position: his connection with the student-athletes and his tireless work ethic.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI am extremely grateful that Brian asked me to join him here at George Washington,\u201d Arnold said. \u201cWorking alongside Brian this past year has been extremely exciting as I have been able to witness first-hand his enthusiasm, drive and passion for our sport. I am excited to join both him and Katie Stefl as we continue our pursuit of excellence, both within the Atlantic 10 and on the national stage.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Before St. Bonaventure, Arnold spent the 2016-17 season as a volunteer assistant at NC State, where he worked with a handful of Olympians, including gold medalists Ryan Held and Cullen Jones.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The Minnesota native helped the Wolfpack claim men\u2019s and women\u2019s ACC team titles before they finished fourth and seventh, respectively, at the NCAA Championships. The squad totaled 34 NCAA A-cut performances and 131 B-cut efforts for the season, highlighted by an NCAA record in the men\u2019s 800-yard freestyle relay.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cLogan&#8217;s experience at NC State allowed him to learn first-hand what a truly elite culture can do for a program on the rise,\u201d Thomas said. \u201cThat experience will pay dividends as we continue to build upon a championship culture here at GW. In my opinion, Logan is a rising star in the coaching world, and I&#8217;m glad that he&#8217;s chosen to Raise High with us at GW!&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In 2015-16, Arnold was an assistant at the University of Saint Thomas in Minnesota, guiding the Tommies to MIAC men\u2019s and women\u2019s championships and three gold medals at the Division III NCAA Championships. The team combined for 49 all-conference honors and set 21 school records on the season.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He also has experience coaching on the club circuit with YOTA Swim Club in North Carolina (2016-17) and West Fargo Flyers Swim Club in North Dakota (2015).<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Arnold commenced his collegiate coaching career as a student at Minnesota\u2019s Concordia College, serving two seasons as an assistant from 2013-2015 as he completed work toward a double degree in exercise science and history.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Prior to that, Arnold competed for two seasons at St. John\u2019s University in his home state, posting five All-MIAC performances and two school-record swims.
