With her super competitive spirit and commitment to success, her steady improvement has included a gold medal at last year\u2019s World Junior Championships, a national high school record and now the recognition of being named Swimming World\u2019s Female High School Swimmer of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>In the fall of 2019, Weiss will matriculate at Indiana University. She had originally planned on attending college far away from Yorktown, but after a few visits to Bloomington, Weiss was ready to commit by the end of her sophomore year in high school.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u201cI had a gut feeling that if I didn\u2019t commit then to IU that I would be committing later to IU,\u201d Weiss said.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Prod her a little bit, and Weiss will reveal some of her big hopes\u2014goals that she truly believes she can achieve.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u201cI want to go to the Olympics in 2020 and, hopefully, 2024,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019d like to medal as well.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There\u2019s a long way to go, but the early indications are that Weiss has the talent and moxie to be in the hunt.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about
