On night four at the University of Maryland at the 2018 YMCA Long Course National Championships one YMCA National Record fell and a number of swimmers put together impressive performances in 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly doubles.<\/p>\n
At the end of day four Red Bank still leads the women’s (362) and men’s (347) team races, but Cheshire (311) is still in contention on the women’s side while Somerset Hills (300.5) is not far behind on the men’s.<\/p>\n
Abigail Doss\u00a0<\/strong>of Susquehanna led at the first 100 of the 400 freestyle and never looked back. The 16 year old stopped the clock in 4:17.80 to win the event. Three seconds back was\u00a0Lucy Callard\u00a0<\/strong>of Powel Crosley (4:20.16).\u00a0Aziza Ganihanova\u00a0<\/strong>of Somerset Valley\u00a0picked up third place with her 4:23.71.<\/p>\n Blue Ash’s Megan Glass\u00a0<\/strong>was the only swimmer under 28 seconds tonight in the 50 fly. She raced to a 27.66. Fanwood Scotch Plain’s\u00a0Darlene Fung\u00a0<\/strong>earned silver with a 28.03 while bronze went to Greensboro’s\u00a0Piper Burton\u00a0<\/strong>in 28.30.<\/p>\n Fung was back again two events later, winning the 50 freestyle in a 26.31. Glass also stepped up onto the blocks again, posting a runner up finish with a 26.55.\u00a0Aubrey Chandler\u00a0<\/strong>of Rock Hill secured third with a 26.59.<\/p>\n Last night’s 50 breaststroke national record setter\u00a0Jessica McMurray\u00a0<\/strong>of York couldn’t knock down the record in the 100 tonight, but she did win the event. The 16 year old finished in 1:11.67, powered by a 38.00 on the way home.\u00a0KC Moss<\/strong>‘ National mark (set in 2009) stands at 1:11.26. Finishing second was 50 breaststroke bronze medalist\u00a0Victoria Eisenhauer\u00a0<\/strong>of Lakeland Hills (1:12.16). ME Lyons’\u00a0Kate Overbey\u00a0<\/strong>finished third (1:13.36).<\/p>\n
