LAST weekend showed us a lot of great competition in college meets around the United States, and a few notable names performed very well in their first races of the fall season. <\/p>\n<p>Perhaps none stood out more than Elizabeth Pelton, who swam five events last weekend at the Early Bird Invitational and posted the fastest time in all five. Pelton&#039;s wins were her first as a Cal Golden Bear, and the times were impressive, especially the 1:58.91 in the 200 IM. Pelton also bested NCAA champion Cindy Tran and fellow freshman Rachel Bootsma in the 100 back, and also beat the field in the 400 IM, 200 free and 200 back.<\/p>\n<p>Pelton showed some great versatility at the meet, and that is why she&#039;s getting our Performance of the Week honor.
