ARIZONA&#039;s Eric Hansen continues to make inroads into the men&#039;s Class of 2013 as <i>Swimming World<\/i> five-star recruit Gage Crosby made the call to be a future Wildcat last night.<\/p>\n<p>Crosby, who trains with the Razorback Aquahawgs and preps at Bentonville High in Arkansas, is a breaststroke specialist with a 1:03.40 in the 100 and 2:16.92 in the 200 breaststroke over long course meters. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I chose the University of Arizona because it was the best fit academically and athletically,&#8221; Crosby told <i>Swimming World<\/i>. &#8220;The coaching staff is a very experienced group and the team is a true family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Crosby is the second top-50 recruit for Arizona in the men&#039;s Class of 2013. Erik Risolvato, the top-ranked swimmer out of Ohio, previously committed to the Wildcats.  Crosby, who is ranked 34th in the nation by CollegeSwimming.com, is the top ranked swimmer out of Arkansas by a large margin.  Tyler Crosson of the Aquakids Swim Team on Conway is now the top recruit in the state in play.  <\/p>\n<p>Crosby also has an interesting backstory, similar to A Christmas Story&#039;s &#8220;You&#039;ll shoot your eye out, kid&#8221; moment with young Ralphie looking for an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle for Christmas.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=http:\/\/offthebenchsports.blogspot.com\/2012\/07\/bentonvilles-gage-crosby-shot-in-eye.html target=_blank>Off The Bench Sports has an article up<\/a> about how Crosby&#039;s brother Jared &#8220;shot a BB into the air, and when it came back down to Earth, it hit Gage in the eye.&#8221;  Luckily for Gage, the only permanent damage he received is that his eyes are permanently dilated according to the article.  This meant he had to give up hand-eye coordination sports, leading him to swimming.
