On the women&#8217;s side Red Bank leads with 242 points to Cheshire&#8217;s 225. The Red Bank men have totaled 243 points while Somerset Hills sits close behind with 225.5.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olivia Harper\u00a0<\/strong>scared a National Record to start the night. The 16 year old from Bath Area added to her 200 backstroke victory with a 1:02.21 in the 100 backtroke, just shy of\u00a0<strong>Camryn Forbes<\/strong>&#8216; 1:02.14.\u00a0<strong>Marie Schobel\u00a0<\/strong>of Red Bank picked up some pivotal team points with her 1:02.70 while Blue Ash&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emma Shuppert\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top trio, who were well ahead of the heat, in 1:02.82.<\/p>\n<p>After a close call in the 100 back, the national record went down in the women&#8217;s 50 breaststroke. York&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jessie McMurray\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 32.49, just .05 under last summer&#8217;s mark of 32.54.\u00a0<strong>Anna Martin\u00a0<\/strong>of Ridgewood was also under 33 with her 32.87. Finishing third was\u00a0<strong>Victoria Eisenhauer<\/strong>, a 16 year old from Lakeland Hills, in 33.23.<\/p>\n<p>Lakota&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hannah Cech\u00a0<\/strong>used a quick final 50 meters to decide a close 400 IM. The 16 year old touched in 4:56.69, just faster than Cheshire&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Boyer\u00a0<\/strong>in 4:56.93. Wilton&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ellen Holmquist\u00a0<\/strong>won a close race for third, finishing in 4:57.18, just .06 faster than York&#8217;s 14 year old\u00a0<strong>Meaghan Harnish\u00a0<\/strong>(4:57.25).<\/p>\n<p>The individual races ended for the women with another close one. Greater Susquehanna&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Abigail Doss\u00a0<\/strong>clocked a 2:02.32 200 freestyle, just quicker than\u00a0<strong>Megan Glass\u00a0<\/strong>of Blue Ash in 2:02.55. Powel Crosley&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lucy Callard\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 2:03.70 for third.<\/p>\n<p>Red Bank put an exclamation mark on the end of their night, sliding to the wall just .02 ahead of the National Record in the 200 medley relay. The quartet of\u00a0<strong>Marie Schobel<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Emma Shaughnessy<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ginger Hansen<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Megan Judge\u00a0<\/strong>finished in 1:57.19.<\/p>\n<p>On the men&#8217;s side\u00a0<strong>Jack Alexy\u00a0<\/strong>of Somerset Hills won the 100 backstroke by a solid margin, finishing in 56.65. Auglaize Mercer Counties&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Justin Fleagle\u00a0<\/strong>picked up a silver with his time of 57.53. Finishing third with an exceptional last 50 meters was\u00a0<strong>Noah Young\u00a0<\/strong>of Countryside (57.79).<\/p>\n<p>A trio of 16 year olds cleared 30 seconds in the 50 breaststroke. Red Bank&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Richard Trentalange\u00a0<\/strong>won in 29.10 while his teammate\u00a0<strong>Sean Cook\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 29.80. Sandwiched between them was\u00a0<strong>Adam Sherman\u00a0<\/strong>(29.73) of Powel Crosley.<\/p>\n<p>After setting a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/matt-fallon-clocks-200-breaststroke-ymca-national-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Record in the 200 breaststroke last night<\/a>,\u00a0<strong>Matt Fallon\u00a0<\/strong>was back to wreak havoc on the 400 IM field tonight. The 15 year old from Somerset Valley\u00a0touched in 4:25.27, a second under the National mark of 4:26.57 and five seconds ahead of the field. Greenwich&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Christian Farricker\u00a0<\/strong>(4:30.59) and Somerset Hills&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Lukas Scheidl\u00a0<\/strong>(4:32.32) were second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Scheidl&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Jack Alexy\u00a0<\/strong>took second place in the 200 freestyle (1:53.44) behind a 1:52.60 from Fanwood Scotch Plains&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Josh Cohen.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Thatcher Scannell\u00a0<\/strong>of Greenwich\u00a0placed third (1:53.88).<\/p>\n<p>Alexy, Scheidl, <strong>Roo Fenton<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Ryan Carkhuff\u00a0<\/strong>teamed up to win the 200 medley relay in 1:45.79, a second and a half ahead of Northwest North Carolina&#8217;s second place squad (1:47.28).<\/p>\n<p>Full results available <a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2018-ymca-long-course-ymca-nationals-day-3-finals-day-3-ymca-2018-08-01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tight team battles carry on after the third day of the 2018 YMCA National Long Course Championships.
