Manuel put up a time of 24.10 to break\u00a0<strong>Cate Campbell&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>2008 U.S. Open record of 24.13, which also broke the championship record of 24.25 set by\u00a0<strong>Dara Torres\u00a0<\/strong>in 2008. That was just .13 off of Manuel&#8217;s American record of 23.97 from last summer.<\/p>\n<p>In second was\u00a0<strong>Abbey Weitzeil<\/strong> in 24.63. That is the fastest Weitzeil has been since 2016 when she recorded her best time of 24.28.\u00a0<strong>Margo Geer<\/strong>, who finished third earlier in the meet in the 100 free, finished third here in 24.79.
