The last Pan Pac spots are on the line for Team USA as this is the last day of the National Championships in Irvine. Margalis, Kalisz and Andrew moved into the world rankings with their swims this morning.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2018-phillips-66-usa-swimming-nationals-day-5-prelims-heat-sheet-day-5-usa-senior-national-2018-07-29.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heat Sheets<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaswimming.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stream<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/omegatiming.com\/Competition?id=0001120102ffffffffffffffffffffff&amp;day=5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Results<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 IM<\/h3>\n<p>The last day of the 2018 Phillips 66 Nationals is the last opportunity for swimmers to get on the plane to Japan for Pan Pacs.\u00a0<strong>Melanie Margalis\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Ella Eastin\u00a0<\/strong>are not on the team yet and have a chance to qualify tonight for the 200 IM. Margalis is a second and a half ahead of second place\u00a0<strong>Evie Pfeifer\u00a0<\/strong>of Longhorn Aquatics. Margalis is seeded first with a 2:10.13 to Pfeifer&#8217;s 2:11.66.<\/p>\n<p>The race for second place looks to be up for grabs behind Margalis.\u00a0<strong>Alex Walsh\u00a0<\/strong>(2:11.83),\u00a0<strong>Kathleen Baker\u00a0<\/strong>(2:11.87) and\u00a0Eastin (2:12.01) are within striking distance of getting second place. Kalisz moved to sixth in the world rankings with his swim and he should move up even more tonight to challenge the top spot of 1:56.37 by Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kosuke Hagino<\/strong>. Kalisz is already on the Pan Pac team for his win in the 400 IM on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>Kalisz is ahead of 2017 World Championship Team member\u00a0<strong>Abrahm DeVine\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.72) and\u00a0<strong>Jay Litherland\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.97) who is already on the team. DeVine has yet to make the Pan Pac team and this is his last shot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Seliskar\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.24) and\u00a0<strong>Josh Prenot<\/strong>\u00a0(1:59.55)\u00a0are already on the Pan Pac team and they advanced to the final with the fourth and seventh fastest times respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gunnar Bentz\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.28),\u00a0<strong>Sam Stewart\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.52) and\u00a0<strong>John Shebat\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.58) also qualified for the A-Final tonight.<\/p>\n<p>In ninth place,\u00a0<strong>Carson Foster\u00a0<\/strong>broke the 15-16 NAG record in the 200 IM with his time of 1:59.71, breaking the old record held by Seliskar at 1:59.84. Manuel is already on the Pan Pac team after she won the 100 free on the first night of the meet. Manuel has been faster this year as her 24.59 from Indianapolis ranks her tenth in the world rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Manuel is ahead of\u00a0<strong>Margo Geer\u00a0<\/strong>(24.77) and\u00a0<strong>Abbey Weitzeil\u00a0<\/strong>(24.87) for tonight as those three were the only to break 25 seconds. Weitzeil and Geer are already on the team after finishing in the top four in the 100 to start the meet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lia Neal\u00a0<\/strong>(25.09),\u00a0<strong>Grace Ariola\u00a0<\/strong>(25.10),\u00a0<strong>Gretchen Walsh\u00a0<\/strong>(25.13) and\u00a0<strong>Madison Kennedy\u00a0<\/strong>(25.24) are all looking to get on the team as this is their last chance to do so.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kelsi Dahlia\u00a0<\/strong>is also in the final tied with Ariola at 25.10. Andrew could add a fourth win of the meet if he can hold on in the 50 free. Andrew blasted a 21.64 in the 50 free heats to move up to fifth in the world rankings for 2018. It is a new best time for Andrew as he has been on fire this week in Irvine.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew is ahead of\u00a0<strong>Caeleb Dressel\u00a0<\/strong>(21.89) as those two were the only swimmers under 22 seconds in the heats.
