Day three of the 2018 Phillips 66 U.S. National Championships continued the momentum of the first two days with American records and U.S. Open records tumbling down.<\/p>\n

Ryan Murphy<\/strong> shattered the American, U.S. Open, and Championship records in the men’s 50 back, posting a final time of 24.24. His time takes down Randall Ball’s<\/strong> 2008 record of 24.33.<\/p>\n

Michael Andrew<\/strong>\u00a0added his own U.S. Open record in the men’s 50 breast. He delivered a 26.84 to be the only athletes beneath the 27-second mark.<\/p>\n

Team USA veterans collected victories in several events as\u00a0Lilly King<\/strong>,\u00a0Caeleb Dressel<\/strong>,\u00a0Kelsi Dahlia<\/strong>, and\u00a0Chase Kalisz<\/strong> picked up wins in the 50 breast, men’s and women’s 100 fly, and 400 IM respectively.<\/p>\n

The theme of the meet continues to be upsets as\u00a0Ally McHugh<\/strong> delivered a monstrous final 100 meters to upset the field and win the women’s 400 IM.\u00a0Brooke Forde\u00a0<\/strong>added a silver medal in the event and earn a spot on her first international roster.<\/p>\n
