Arguably, one of the best swims in the evening was\u00a0Kelsi Dahlia<\/strong> tying her own American Record in the women’s 50 fly with a time of 25.48. Her time did knock down\u00a0Dara Torres’<\/strong> 2009 meet record of 25.50.<\/p>\n

<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The other major record-breaking swim of the evening took place in the women’s 200 back when 16-year-old\u00a0<strong>Regan Smith<\/strong>\u00a0tied for first with Olympian\u00a0<strong>Kathleen Baker<\/strong>. The two posted matching times of 2:06.43, which doubles as a new World Junior Record (WJR) for Smith. This marks Smith’s second time qualifying for a major international meet with Team USA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Qx9p30CPpno\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Sevearl of Team USA’s veteran swimmers earned redemption on day two, qualifying for the Pan Pacific Championships in Tokyo after not qualifying for Budapest or the Rio Olympic Games.\u00a0<strong>Allison Schmitt<\/strong> was the first to earn a new spot with Team USA’s roster after finishing second overall in the women’s 200 free behind the ever-dominant\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-Wur-ADF-tg\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Micah Sumrall<\/strong>\u00a0joined Schmitt in the redemption category when she delivered the fastest time of the evening in finals of the women’s 200 breast, clocking a final time of 2:22.06. She won the final by more than a second and earned her ticket to Pan Pacs after missing out on a chance to represent Team USA in Rio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1LZdLucGRgs\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Josh Prenot<\/strong> continued the redemption streak with a top showing in the men’s 200 breast. He posted a time of 2:07.28 to finish just .11 seconds off his American Record and rocket to the top of the world rankings for 2018.
