That time broke\u00a0<strong>Mallory Comerford&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>U.S. Open and meet record of 52.81 from last summer and was less than 3-tenths off Manuel&#8217;s own American record of 52.27 from 2017 Worlds. Manuel flipped first at the 50 in 25.62 and never looked back, recording the only closing split under 27 seconds in the field (26.92).<\/p>\n<p>Comerford was second in tonight&#8217;s final, finishing in 53.09, while\u00a0<strong>Margo Geer\u00a0<\/strong>improved on her lifetime best from earlier this season to finish third in 53.44. Also punching her ticket to Pan Pacs will be\u00a0Cal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Abbey Weitzeil<\/strong>, who was fourth in 53.56.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the rest of the final was Stanford&#8217;s <strong>Lia Neal\u00a0<\/strong>(53.95),\u00a0<strong>Allison Schmitt\u00a0<\/strong>(54.24),\u00a0<strong>Kelsi Dahlia\u00a0<\/strong>(54.41), and 15-year-old\u00a0<strong>Gretchen Walsh\u00a0<\/strong>(54.57).
