GREGG Troy has amassed much success in his long tenure as coach, but one thing he&#039;s regretted not doing is taking an occasional break to clear his head and devote uninterrupted time to his family.<\/p>\n<p>In the first part of this four-part video of a speech Troy gave at the 2012 American Swimming Coaches Association&#039;s world clinic this month, Troy said every coach, no matter what level, should take a full weekend away from the pool. It would allow the coach to keep other aspects of their lives in balance &#8212; family, friends, etc. &#8212; and prevent the possibility of undue stress and burnout.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/blip.tv\/play\/hKkHg4S%2BEQA.x?p=1\" width=\"480\" height=\"388\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In part four of the speech, Troy talked more about the importance of taking that time off, admitting it was something he had never done.
