Among those who won additional medals were\u00a0<strong>Michael Xu, Gordon Mason,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Kenisha Liu.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Back<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Zephanie Koh<\/strong> of Brea Aquatics won the first event of the evening, clocking a 2:17.48 to win the women&#8217;s 200 back.<\/p>\n<p>She was followed to the wall by Bay Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Juliana Fox<\/strong>, who touched with a time of 2:18.80.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gillian Flath<\/strong> of Diablo Aquatics rounded out the top three with a time of 2:19.52.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Back<\/h3>\n<p>It was a tight race for first between Roadrunner&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Robert Moseley<\/strong> and Brea Aquatics&#8217; <strong>Preston Planells <\/strong>as the two finished a slim .13 seconds apart. Moseley got his hand to the wall first and took home the victory with a time of 2:06.61, while Planells finished second overal with a 2:06.74.<\/p>\n<p>Crow Canyon&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Allen Dempster<\/strong> was third with a time of 2:07.01.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Catharyn Salladin<\/strong> of FAST Swim Team dominated the women&#8217;s 400 free event, touching more than five seconds ahead of the competition. She stopped the clock at a time of 4:20.23 for the gold.<\/p>\n<p>La Mirada Armada teammates <strong>Kathleen Sulkevich<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Rosalee Mira Santa Ana<\/strong>\u00a0scooped up second and third place in the 400 free, posting times of 4:25.51 and 4:26.08 respectively.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400 Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Gordon Mason<\/strong> of Team Santa Monica continued to collect victories in the men&#8217;s distance events, snagging a victory in the men&#8217;s 400 free. Mason turned in a final time of 3:59.30 to be the only swimmer to dip below the four minute mark.<\/p>\n<p>Brea Aquatics&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Michael Tenney<\/strong> finished second overall with a time of 4:03.96, followed by La Mirada Armada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>David Wang<\/strong> and his time of 4:06.43.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Brooke Rodriguez<\/strong> of De Anza Cupertino and\u00a0<strong>Izabela Adame<\/strong> of Canyons Aquatics delivered close finishes of 1:11.64 and 1:11.76 to top the final heat of the women&#8217;s 100 breast.<\/p>\n<p>Brea Aquatics&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Jacqueline Basham<\/strong> turned in a time of 1:12.04 to finish third.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Michael Xu\u00a0<\/strong>of Bay Club collected his second breaststroke victory of the weekend, turning in the fastest time for the men&#8217;s 100 breast. Xu stopped the clock at a time of 1:04.36 for first, followed closely by UCSD&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Edgar Chin<\/strong> and his time of 1:04.63.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sean Ward<\/strong> of Brea Aquatics finished third overall with a 1:05.23.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Kenisha Liu<\/strong> of Brea Aquatics continued to stun the competition, adding a victory in the women&#8217;s 100 fly to her name. Liu touched first with a time of 1:00.86, improving upon her prelims time of 1:01.56.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Makenna Turner<\/strong> of Diablo Aquatics posted a 1:01.56 for second place, while\u00a0<strong>Brenna Bushey<\/strong> of SJSU Swimming grabbed third with a 1:01.85.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p>Terrapins teammates\u00a0<strong>Andrei Minakov<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Alexei Sancov<\/strong> flew to the top of the podium in the men&#8217;s 100 fly final. Minakov delivered a sizzling 52.03 to win the event by more than a second, while teammate Sancov posted a 53.68 for a solid second place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brock Bonetti<\/strong> of Roadrunner Aquatics turned in a third place finish of 54.60.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 800 Free Relay<\/h3>\n<p>The women of La Mirada Amada and Brea Aquatics held a tough battle for first in the finals of the women&#8217;s 800 free relay. The ladies of La Mirada Amada pulled ahead and posted a final time of 8:31.15 over Brea Aquatics&#8217; 8:31.26.<\/p>\n<p>Roadrunner Aquatics finished third overall with a time of 8:36.41.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 800 Free Relay<\/h3>\n<p>The La Mirada Amada men replicated the women&#8217;s efforts and won a tight victory in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:42.39.<\/p>\n<p>Roadrunner Aquatics finished second overall with a time of 7:42.61, while Da Anza Cupertino men took third with a 7:49.99.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The third night of the 2018 Santa Clarita Sectionals saw many athletes building upon their medal collections.
