NAIROBI, Kenya, September 12. A day after missing the top of the podium in the women's 50 fly, South Africa's Lehesta Kemp returned to her winning ways with her fourth and fifth titles on night three at the African Long Course Championships.<\/p>\n
Kemp clocked a 1:03.68 in the women's 100 back for her fourth title of the meet. Her 13-year-old teammate Nathania Van Niekerk placed second in 1:04.96, while Egypt's Marym Abdel Rahman El Sayed picked up third in 1:06.98. Kemp then anchored the 400 free relay for her fifth crown. Kyna Pereira, Michelle Weber, Rene Warnes and Kemp turned in a 3:55.54 for the win. <\/p>\n
South Africa's Weber, 15, scored a dominant victory in the women's 400 free with a 4:19.60, while Egypt's Reem Mohamed Hussein, 16, placed second in 4:26.55. South Africa's Warnes checked in with a third-place time of 4:28.25. South Africa's Tara Nicholas raced to victory in the women's 50 breast with a 33.15, while Egypt's Mai Atef Abdelfatta (33.56) and Rowida Hesham Mohamed Tolba (34.39) rounded out the podium. <\/p>\n
South Africa's Myles Brown earned the men's 100 free title in 51.06, besting Kenya's Jason Dunford (51.20) in the process. Algeria's Ous Sahnoune raced to third in 51.60. Tunisia's Taki Mrabet snared the men's 200 back crown in 2:06.65, while Brown pulled off a difficult double with a second-place 2:07.19. South Africa's Ricky Ellis wound up third in 2:08.52. <\/p>\n
South Africa's Michael Meyer, Ayrton Sweeney, Abdul-Malick Railoun and Brown closed the night with a 7:42.68 to win the men's 800 free relay, with Brown completing a daunting triple on the third night of swimming. <\/p>\n
Dunford bounced back in the men's 50 fly with a 24.05 for the win, nearly clearing his meet record of 23.50 set back in 2008.
