OVER the weekend, British Swimming announced that it is currently in negotiations to host the 2015 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Swimming World Championships, as reported by Inside the Games. The event, held in Glasgow, would take the place of the 2015 IPC Swimming European Championships. <\/p>\n<p>David Sparks, the chief executive of British Swimming, hopes trading the European Championships for the much larger World Championships will bring more attention to Paralympic swimmers set to compete in Rio 2016.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This will be a fantastic opportunity for the British Paralympic Swimmers to prepare for the Paralympics just one year away in Rio 2016,&#8221; Sparks told Inside the Games. <\/p>\n<p>It was announced in April 2012 that British swimming would host the IPC European Championships at the new Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow.
