Hood Speedo Sectionals continued on Saturday with many athletes collecting victories in the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s 100 back, 400 free, 100 breast, and 100 fly. <strong>Kaitlyn Dobler<\/strong> of the University of Denver Hilltoppe claimed two individual victories in the 100 breast and 100 fly, while several teenage swimmers posted personal best times.<\/p>\n<p>Scottsdale Aquatic Club continued to extend their lead over the team scores with 1585 points, while Boice YMCA Swim Team (1083) and Phoenix Swim Club (1060) stood strong at second and third.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Back<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Emi Moronuki<\/strong>, swimming unattached, topped the competition in the women&#8217;s 100 back Saturday night. Delivering a first-place finish of 1:01.30.<\/p>\n<p>14-year-old\u00a0<strong>Kennedy Noble<\/strong> of the YMCA Westside Silver Fins picked up a strong second place with a 1:02.51, while\u00a0<strong>Heidi Bradley\u00a0<\/strong>of the University of Denver Hilltoppe was third overall with a 1:02.89. Noble&#8217;s time stands as a personal best by close to three seconds.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Back<\/h3>\n<p>University of Denver Hilltoppe&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Neil Wachtler<\/strong> scratched 1.22 seconds off his prelims time of 57.62 in the men&#8217;s 100 back to claim gold with a final time of 56.40.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hiromasa Fujimori<\/strong> grabbed second overall with a time of 57.23, followed closely by YMCA Westside Silver Fins&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Jadan Nabor<\/strong> and his time of 57.36.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ashley Strouse<\/strong> of Scottsdale Aquatic Club posted a new personal best time in the women&#8217;s 400 free final, turning in a final time of 4:17.19 to win gold.<\/p>\n<p>Teammate\u00a0<strong>Hayley Hill<\/strong> collected second place with a time of 4:20.75, followed by Sweet Home Swim Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lucia Davis<\/strong> and her time of 4:22.19.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400 Free<\/h3>\n<p>Wasatch Front Fish Market&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lucas Hess<\/strong> not only claimed gold in the men&#8217;s 400 free, but he was also the only swimmer to dip beneath the four-minute mark. Hess, 17, soared past his previous best time of 4:10.18 to win the event with a 3:59.82.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Max Weed<\/strong> of Scottsdale Aquatic Club posted a second place finish of 4:04.62, just ahead of Phoenix Swim Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michael Niezgodzki<\/strong> and his time of 4:05.74.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Kaitlyn Dobler<\/strong> of the University of Denver Hilltoppe scraped 3.28 seconds off her prelims time of 1:12.49 to win the women&#8217;s 100 breast with a time of 1:09.21.<\/p>\n<p>Teammate\u00a0<strong>Eva Carlson<\/strong> grabbed second with a 1:11.37, while Lake Oswego Swim Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Eleanor Jew<\/strong> took a close third with a 1:11.65.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n<p>Fujimori collected his second medal of the day with a top showing in the men&#8217;s 100 breast, stopping the clock at a time of 1:01.57.<\/p>\n<p>Tualatin Hills Swim Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Caspar Corbeau<\/strong> picked up second overall with a time of 1:02.65, followed by Foothills Swim Team&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jack Moranetz&#8217;s<\/strong> 1:04.74.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p>Shortly after claiming victory in the women&#8217;s 100 breast, Dobler returned to the top of the podium in the women&#8217;s 100 fly. She collected a narrow victory over teammate\u00a0<strong>Heidi Bradley<\/strong>, touching the wall with a 1:00.83 over Bradley&#8217;s\u00a01:00.96.<\/p>\n<p>RallySport Aquatic Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Josiane Valette<\/strong> rounded out the top three finishers with a time of 1:01.12.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p>Phoenix Swim Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Giles Smith<\/strong> flew to victory in the men&#8217;s 100 fly, dropping 1.41 seconds off his prelims time of 54.94 to win with a 53.53.<\/p>\n<p>South Davis Aquatics Team&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cole Avery<\/strong> turned in a second place finish of 54.96, followed by Fort Collins Area Swim Team&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Loren Gillilan<\/strong> and his time of 55.01.<\/p>\n<p><em>All results can be found on Meet Mobile &#8211; 2018 Speedo Sectionals &#8211; Mt Hood.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mt.
