In what has been a fast meet so far, the third day of the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series in Columbus, Ohio, did not disappoint.<\/p>\n

Leah Smith, Chase Kalisz, Michael Andrew, Siobhan Haughey\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>each picked up their second individual titles of the weekend. Plenty of in-season best times were recorded during finals as athletes are preparing for Nationals later this month.<\/p>\n

Women’s 400 IM<\/h2>\n

After dominating the women’s 400 free<\/a> last night,\u00a0Leah Smith\u00a0<\/strong>added her second win of the weekend in the 400 IM on night three of the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series in Columbus. Smith got her hand to the wall first in 4:37.64, her fastest in-season time of her career.<\/p>\n

Smith’s swim marks the eight-fastest time in the world this year and ranks her second among Americans for the 2017-18 season.<\/p>\n

Swimming unattached,\u00a0Vien Nguyen\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 4:38.66 while Longhorn’s\u00a0Evie Pfeifer\u00a0<\/strong>took third in 4:41.95.<\/p>\n

All McHugh\u00a0<\/strong>(4:42.39),\u00a0Kathryn Ackerman\u00a0<\/strong>(4:46.08),\u00a0Lilly King\u00a0<\/strong>(4:46.49),\u00a0Mariah Denigan\u00a0<\/strong>(4:46.54) and\u00a0Lauren Edelman\u00a0<\/strong>(4:47.66) also competed in the top eight.<\/p>\n

Ohio State’s Kristen Romano\u00a0<\/strong>won the B Final in 4:46.16, fast enough for a new Puerto Rico national record.<\/p>\n

Men’s 400 IM<\/h2>\n
Chase Kalisz\u00a0<\/strong>led the men’s 400 IM field from start to finish on day three of the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series in Columbus. He knocked off nearly 10 seconds from his morning swim to win the event in 4:15.16, making this his second title of the weekend<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Kalisz has gone six-for-six in 400 IM titles at all TYR Pro Swim Series stops this season.\u00a0He currently leads the world rankings in this event with his 4:08.92 set back in March.<\/p>\n
Hiromasa Fujimo\u00a0<\/strong>touched the wall in 4:17.57 for second while third place went to\u00a0Anton Oerskov\u00a0<\/strong>in 4:18.10.<\/p>\n
Takeharu Fujimo\u00a0<\/strong>(4:18.89),\u00a0Charlie Swanson\u00a0<\/strong>(4:19.38),\u00a0Casey Storch\u00a0<\/strong>(4:23.75),\u00a0Jake Foster\u00a0<\/strong>(4:24.53) and\u00a0Will Roberts\u00a0<\/strong>(4:30.97) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n

Kelsia Dahlia\u00a0<\/strong>also dipped under the 25-second barrier to finish second in 24.99.\u00a0Mallory Comerford\u00a0<\/strong>took third in 25.35.<\/p>\n

After posting a personal best time this morning, Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>was just off his morning swim of 21.69 in the men’s 50 free on the third day of the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series in Columbus. Andrew was the only swimmer in the field under the 22-second mark, getting his hand to the wall first in 21.70.<\/p>\n
His prelims swim ranks the 19-year-old sixth in the world this season<\/a> and the fastest for an American.<\/p>\n
Justin Ress\u00a0<\/strong>was just off his personal best to take second in 21.70 followed by\u00a0Zach Apple\u00a0<\/strong>in 22.56 for third.<\/p>\n
Ryan Held\u00a0<\/strong>(22.73),\u00a0Bruno Blaskovic\u00a0<\/strong>(23.03),\u00a0Mihalis Deliyia\u00a0<\/strong>(23.03),\u00a0Andrew Loy\u00a0<\/strong>(23.09) and\u00a0Josh Fleagle\u00a0<\/strong>(23.17) also swam in the A final.<\/p>\n

Asia Seidt\u00a0<\/strong>took it out fast and held consistent splits en route to winning the women’s 200 back on the third night of the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series in Columbus. She stopped the clock in 2:08.91 for the title.<\/p>\n
Tonight’s time marks a new personal best for Seidt and currently ranks her fourth among American women for the 2017-18 season.<\/p>\n
It was a Wildcat sweep as\u00a0Ali Galyer\u00a0<\/strong>took second in 2:09.93 and\u00a0Bridgette Alexander\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in 2:11.98.<\/p>\n

Men’s 200 Back<\/h2>\n
Ryosuke Irie\u00a0<\/strong>dominated the men’s 200 back on the third night of the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series in Columbus. The 28-year-old held sub-30 the whole race to grab the title in 1:55.51, well over three seconds ahead of the runner-up.<\/p>\n
His time moves him from seventh to fifth in the world rankings this season.<\/p>\n
Sixteen-year-old\u00a0Carson Foster\u00a0<\/strong>was the only other swimmer to break the two-minute barrier, doing so in 1:59.05 for second.\u00a0Gregory Tarasevich\u00a0<\/strong>took third in 2:00.09.<\/p>\n

The women’s 200 free proved to be the closest race on the third day of the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series in Columbus.\u00a0Siobhan Haughey\u00a0<\/strong>got to the wall first in 1:57.20, only .01 ahead of\u00a0Allison Schmitt.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Haughey, who won the 100 free last night<\/a>, posted her fastest swim of the year which ranks her second among American women behind\u00a0Katie Ledecky.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Schmitt finished second in 1:57.21 while\u00a0Leah\u00a0Smith\u00a0<\/strong>was close behind in 1:57.41 for third.<\/p>\n
Gabby Deloof\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.43),\u00a0Cierra Runge\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.87),\u00a0Catie Deloof\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.25),\u00a0Geena Freriks\u00a0<\/strong>(2:01.17) and\u00a0Kaersten Meitz <\/strong>(2:01.48) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n

Men’s 200 Free<\/h2>\n
Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>held nothing back in the men’s 200 free on the third night of the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series in Columbus. He took it out over one second faster than the rest of the field and held on for the win in 1:48.08.<\/p>\n
That marks a new season-best for Pieroni and moves him up to the second-fastest American of the season behind\u00a0Jack Conger. <\/strong>He\u00a0adds this to his 100 free title<\/a> from last night.<\/p>\n
His teammate\u00a0Zane Grothe\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed second in 1:48.83 while\u00a0Grant House\u00a0<\/strong>took third in 1:49.13.<\/p>\n
Felix Auboeck\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.28),\u00a0Zach Apple\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.88),\u00a0Patrick Callan\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.91),\u00a0Sam Steele\u00a0<\/strong>(1:50.13) and\u00a0Paul Delakis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:52.15) completed the A final.<\/p>\n
