The women&#8217;s race will also not be featuring\u00a0<strong>Leah Smith<\/strong>. The top seed is\u00a0<strong>Becca Mann\u00a0<\/strong>who will be joined in the top seeded heat by\u00a0Chile&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kristel Kobrich<\/strong>, Mission Viejo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ashley Neidigh\u00a0<\/strong>and Arizona State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cierra Runge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s race will also feature some good international names with\u00a0<strong>Marcelo Acosta\u00a0<\/strong>out of El Salvador and the University of Louisville, as well as\u00a0<strong>Anton Ipsen\u00a0<\/strong>who represents NC State and Denmark. The top American is\u00a0<strong>Zane Grothe\u00a0<\/strong>who won the 1500 at the last two Pro Swim Series meets.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swmeets.com\/Realtime\/Pro%20Series\/2018\/Columbus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Live Results<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2018-tyr-pro-swim-series-columbus-1500-heat-sheet-day-1-usa-senior-national-2018-07-05.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heat Sheet<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaswimming.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stream<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 1500<\/h3>\n<p>Wolfpack Elite&#8217;s <strong>Anton Ipsen<\/strong>\u00a0dominated the men&#8217;s race in a time of 15:07.40. The swim bettered his season best of 15:09.20 from this year&#8217;s Charlotte UltraSwim last month. It also moves him up four spots in the world rankings, where he now sits just outside the top twenty.<\/p>\n<p>Pro Swim Series star <strong>Zane Grothe<\/strong> was well off the leader as well as his best time of 15:05.31 from the TYR Pro Swim Series at Indianapolis. He was not too far behind Ipsen through around the halfway point, but Ipsen nearly even-split the race going 7:33.28-7:34.12.<\/p>\n<p>Louisville duo <strong>Marcelo Acosta<\/strong> (15:32.29) and <strong>T.C. Smith<\/strong> (15:54.87) claimed the next two spots. Ohio State Swim Club also had two swimmers in the top eight as <strong>Austin Mortimer<\/strong> (16:04.84) took sixth and <strong>Spencer Tussing<\/strong> finished eighth (16:12.92).
