This week\u2019s Performance Of The Week, <\/span>sponsored by LumaLanes<\/span><\/a>, goes to <\/span>Andriy Govorov <\/b>for his stunning world record performance in the men\u2019s 50 butterfly at the 2018 Sette Colli Trophy in Rome, Italy this week. <\/span><\/p>\n

Swimming on the last day of competition, Govorov absolutely <\/span>smashed\u00a0<\/span><\/a>Rafael Munoz\u2019s <\/b>world record in the 50 fly<\/span><\/a> with a stellar swim of 22.27. That flew by Munoz\u2019s old record of 22.43 from 2009 and took away one of the oldest supersuit world records still on the books.<\/span><\/p>\n

Govorov <\/span>had been within a tenth of the world record<\/span><\/a> a few weeks ago during the Mare Nostrum Tour, clocking a 22.53 in Monaco which surely gave him confidence heading into his swim in Rome. You can see a video of Govorov\u2019s swim below:<\/span><\/p>\n
