{"id":315707,"date":"2018-06-27T16:55:04","date_gmt":"2018-06-27T23:55:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=315707"},"modified":"2018-06-26T16:55:49","modified_gmt":"2018-06-26T23:55:49","slug":"17th-annual-rcp-tiburon-mile-will-feature-zane-grothe-ashley-twitchell","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/17th-annual-rcp-tiburon-mile-will-feature-zane-grothe-ashley-twitchell\/","title":{"rendered":"17th Annual RCP Tiburon Mile Will Feature Zane Grothe, Ashley Twitchell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\">The 17th annual RCP Tiburon Mile Open Water Swim is coming up on Sunday, August 19th, 2018 at 9a.m. Olympic and World Champions, as well as avid open water swimmers of all ages and levels converge in the San Francisco Bay, California to battle it out in what has been named \u201cone of the world\u2019s most competitive open water swims.\u201d This competitive race integrates the best pool and open water world champions in one venue.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Starting at Angel Island and swimming their way through the Raccoon Straight, swimmers will finish the one nautical mile race on the shores of Tiburon at Sam\u2019s Anchor Caf\u00e9. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">This annual event has raised over $1.5 million for charity since 1999- this year\u2019s proceeds will be directed to supporting LifeHouse. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Spectators are invited to watch the race unfold at Shoreline Park in Tiburon with a back drop of the beautiful San Francisco Bay and views of the skyline of San Francisco.
