PHOENIX, Arizona, July 31. Conger parlayed an outstanding performance at the D.C. Metro Championships in February, which included a national independent school record. He downed the previous record of 4:19.32 with a 4:17.51 to become the third-fastest high schooler ever. Only Jeff Kostoff (4:16.39) and Nicholas Caldwell (4:17.29) have been swifter. <\/p>\n

Haverford's Shane Ryan earned runner-up status with his 100 free and 100 back performances, while The Woodlands' Gray Umbach wound up third in the race with a strong outing in the 200 IM.<\/p>\n
