THE International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame celebrates and commemorates the history and luminaries of the global marathon swimming community. <\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imshof.org\"target=\"_blank\">International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame<\/a> celebrates and commemorates the history and luminaries of the global marathon swimming community. <\/p>\n<p>Since 1961, 217 swimmers, coaches, pilots, organizations and administrators from 34 countries have been honored since its inception.  Individuals from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Cuba, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, USA, and Yugoslavia have been inducted as <a href=\"http:\/\/openwaterpedia.com\/index.php?title=Honour_Swimmer\"target=\"_blank\">Honour Swimmers<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/openwaterpedia.com\/index.php?title=Honour_Pilot\"target=\"_blank\">Honour Pilots<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/openwaterpedia.com\/index.php?title=Honour_Coach\"target=\"_blank\">Honour Coaches<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/openwaterpedia.com\/index.php?title=Honour_Organisation\"target=\"_blank\">Honour Organisations<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/openwaterpedia.com\/index.php?title=Honour_Administrator\"target=\"_blank\">Honour Administrators<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Over the 5 decades of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imshof.org\"target=\"_blank\">International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame<\/a>, the exploits and careers of these luminaries have been maintained in archives that have now been made public at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imshof.org\"target=\"_blank\">www.imshof.org<\/a> (or <a href=\"http:\/\/spanish.imshof.org\"target=\"_blank\">spanish.imshof.org<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/portuguese.imshof.org\"target=\"_blank\">portuguese.imshof.org<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/german.imshof.org\"target=\"_blank\">german.imshof.org<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/french.imshof.org\"target=\"_blank\">french.imshof.org<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/italian.imshof.org\"target=\"_blank\">italian.imshof.org<\/a>, japanese.imshof.org).  Each year, the inductees are honored by their peers, families, friends and fans. <\/p>\n<p>You can support the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imshof.org\"target=\"_blank\">International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame<\/a> with a donation of any amount. The Hall of Fame is a registered non-profit organization that completely depends upon the generous contributions of its supporters to continue honoring the world&#039;s marathon swimming heroes and heroines. <\/p>\n<p>This year the inductees will be honored on the Queen Mary at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imathlete.com\/events\/EventDetails.aspx?fEID=13448\"target=\"_blank\">Global Open Water Swimming Conference<\/a> on September 22nd.
