The psych sheet for the 2018 Charlotte Ultra Swim has been posted as the meet will take place starting June 14 and will go through the 17th. The meet was formerly a part of the Pro Swim Series but has not been since 2016. The Ultra Swim is not a part of the Pro Swim Series but will still feature a couple big names in the United States in the sport of swimming.<\/p>\n

Psych Sheet<\/a><\/p>\n

Coleman Stewart<\/h3>\n

The NCAA champion in the 100 back<\/a> is coming off a very successful sophomore season with NC State so his transition to long course will be closely monitored. He is the third seed in the 100 back behind fellow Wolfpack Elite members\u00a0Justin Ress\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Hennessey Stuart<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

His best LCM time in the 100 back is a 55.64 from the 2017 US Open so he could be in for a big drop this summer after a big college season.<\/p>\n

He is also entered in the 50 back, 200 back, 100 free among other events.<\/p>\n

Anton Ipsen<\/h3>\n

The NCAA champion in the 1650<\/a> is also coming off a very successful senior season with the Wolfpack. Ipsen is the second seed in the 1500 and 800 behind South Carolina’s\u00a0Akram Mahmoud\u00a0<\/strong>and is the top seed in the 400. Ipsen has been steadily improving each season and he could have a big post grad career ahead of him if he keeps improving.<\/p>\n

Ipsen is most likely focusing on the European Championships at the end of the summer where he would compete for his native Denmark. Ipsen has yet to break 15 minutes long course in the 1500 as his best is a 15:05 from Rio.<\/p>\n

Zach Yeadon<\/h3>\n

Yeadon is coming off a solid freshman year at Notre Dame where he was fourth in the 1650 and tenth in the 500. Yeadon is a rising star in the United States as it is searching for its next great male distance swimmer and Yeadon could be the answer.<\/p>\n

Yeadon is the third seed in the 1500 and is sixth in the 400 and fourth in the 800. He will be going up against two guys he raced in Minnesota at NCAA’s in\u00a0Anton Ipsen\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Akram Mahmoud\u00a0<\/strong>in the distance events.<\/p>\n

Veronica Burchill<\/h3>\n

Georgia junior-to-be\u00a0Veronica Burchill\u00a0<\/strong>is the top seed in the 100 fly and is third in the 50 free and second in the 200 free. Burchill is\u00a0another rising star<\/a>\u00a0in the United States and is coming off a solid summer where she competed for Team USA at the World University Games.<\/p>\n

Madison Kennedy<\/h3>\n

The 30-year-old Kennedy is only swimming in the 50 and 100 free as well as the 100 back in Charlotte. She is still one of the premiere swimmers in the United States as the seemingly ageless Kennedy is still swimming faster than ever. She is the top seed in the 50 ahead of NC State’s\u00a0Ky-lee Perry\u00a0<\/strong>and is second in the 100 free behind NC State’s\u00a0Alexia Zevnik<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Zevnik only swam one event at the Commonwealth Games earlier this year in Australia, where she won a silver medal leading off Canada’s 4×100 free relay. Zevnik is the top seed in the 100 and 200 back as well as the 100 free. She is entered in seven events total this weekend as she will get a chance to show off her versatility in Charlotte this weekend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
