The former high school coach is banned for life by the U.S. Center for SafeSport<\/p>\n<p>Ortiz, 58, coached swimming as well as track &amp; field for more than 20 years at high schools in California.<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested in May, charged with sexual misconduct with a minor.<\/p>\n<p>The incident, reported by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vvdailypress.com\/news\/20180511\/granite-hills-coach-arrested-accused-of-sex-with-minor\">VictorVille Daily Press<\/a>, was arrested in connection with a 15-year-old boy who went missing on April 24. Authorities say Ortiz found the boy\u00a0and promised to take him to a homeless shelter, but instead, took him to Ortiz\u2019s house and provided the boy with alcohol and engaging in sexual acts with him, according to the Daily Press.
