Women’s 400 Free<\/h3>\n

Katie Ledecky\u00a0<\/strong>cruised to first place in the women’s 400 free to begin the final night of the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series in Santa Clara. The newly-turned professional swimmer posted a time of 4:00.51 to complement her 200 and 800 wins from earlier this weekend.<\/p>\n

Ledecky was a few seconds off of her world-leading 3:57.94 set last month in Indy.<\/p>\n

Leah Smith<\/strong> dropped nearly three seconds from her morning swim to take second in 4:04.72 while\u00a0Melanie Margalis<\/strong> finished third in 4:08.84.\u00a0Kennedy Goss\u00a0<\/strong>(4:13.96),\u00a0Regan Smith\u00a0<\/strong>(4:14.34),\u00a0Courtney Harnish\u00a0<\/strong>(4:15.35),\u00a0Ashley Neidigh\u00a0<\/strong>(4:17.36),\u00a0Ayumi Macias Alba\u00a0<\/strong>(4:18.09) and\u00a0Chenoa Devine\u00a0<\/strong>(4:21.87) rounded out the top heat.<\/p>\n

Women’s 50 Fly Knockout<\/h3>\n
Farida Osman<\/strong> came out on top in the semifinals, bettering her time from prelims by nearly half a second in 26.05. Penny Oleksiak<\/strong> (26.16) was second, Kelsi Dahlia<\/strong> (26.58) third and Sarah Gibson<\/strong> (26.75) was fourth.<\/p>\n
In the final round only minutes later, Oleksiak dropped another tenth of a second to claim the victory in 26.06 ahead of Osman\u2019s 26.32.<\/p>\n

Minutes after posting the top time in prelims, Jack Conger<\/strong> powered his way to a semifinals win in 23.89. Luis Martinez<\/strong> posted a time of 24.08\u00a0to warn the last spot heading into the finals. Alex Perreault<\/strong> was third in 24.52 while Giles Smith<\/strong> was fourth in 25.15.<\/p>\n
Once again, Conger came out on top, lowering his time to win the race in 23.67. He took the lead right from the start to get the win over Martinez (24.16).<\/p>\n

In the semis, Olivia Smoliga<\/strong> did not waste any time taking the lead. She won the heat in 28.12. Ali Deloof<\/strong> earned the other spot in the final coming in at 28.21. Kylie Masse<\/strong> took third in 28.26 while fifteen-year-old\u00a0Isabelle Stadden<\/strong> was fourth in 28.61.<\/p>\n
Smoliga, who is the current American Record holder in the event after posting a 27.43 in Mesa, won the finals in 28.02. Deloof was two-tenths behind in 28.22.<\/p>\n

Ryosuke Irie<\/strong> dropped just over three-tenths of a second from his prelims time to take the top spot during the semifinals, stopping the clock in 25.42. Markus Thormeyer<\/strong> finished second in 25.50, followed by Matt Grevers<\/strong> (25.53) and Javier Acevedo<\/strong> (25.67).<\/p>\n
Moments later, Irie and Thormeyer would get their hands to the wall at the same time to share the 50 back knockout title. They each finished with a time of 25.68.<\/p>\n

Jan Switkowsi\u00a0<\/strong>finished in second with a time of 3:51.17.\u00a0Jack Levant\u00a0<\/strong>posted a new personal best time of 3:51.47 to finish third overall.\u00a0Mitch D’Arrigo\u00a0<\/strong>(3:53.22),\u00a0Ricardo Vargas Jacobo\u00a0<\/strong>(3:54.31),\u00a0True Sweetser\u00a0<\/strong>(3:54.63),\u00a0Tae Hwan Park\u00a0<\/strong>(3:55.87),\u00a0Kiwoong Koo\u00a0<\/strong>(3:57.02) and\u00a0Grant Shoults\u00a0<\/strong>(3:58.74) also competed in the fastest heat.<\/p>\n

World record holder Lilly King<\/strong> again came out on top during the semifinals, touching the wall in 30.66. Melissa Rodriquez<\/strong> finished second in 31.56 to secure her spot in the finals. Kennedy Lohman<\/strong> was third in 32.15 and Kim Williams<\/strong> was fourth in 32.24.<\/p>\n
King dominated during finals, dropping over a second from semis to post a time of 29.62. That time ranks her first in the world this year and broke Molly Hannis’\u00a0<\/strong>meet record of 29.71 set earlier this year.\u00a0Rodriquez dropped additional time to finish second in 31.24.<\/p>\n

Fink won a very close final, finishing in 27.67 ahead of Wilson’s 27.70.<\/p>\n
