Olympic Gold Medalist Kaitlin Sandeno<\/strong> will be the host for swimming at this year\u2019s Warrior Games, presented by The Department of Defense.<\/p>\n

The Warrior Games are a Paralympic-style competition for wounded, ill and injured service members. Athletes from the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Special Operations Command, in addition to athletes from the U.K. Armed Forces, Australian Defence Force and, for the first time, the Canadian Armed Forces, will compete in the Games. They will go head-to-head in 11 sports: archery, cycling, shooting, sitting volleyball, swimming, track and field, wheelchair basketball and, for the first time in Warrior Games history, indoor rowing, powerlifting and time trial cycling.<\/p>\n

Says Sandeno,<\/p>\n

\u201cI am beyond honored to be a part of this inspiring event! I have so much appreciation and admiration for our brave heroes and I\u2019m thrilled to be hosting their athleticism in the pool.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now in its ninth year, the Warrior Games, held this year at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, are free and open to the public from June 1 \u2013 9. Swimming will be contested on Friday June 8th at The Cadet Gymnasium Natatorium from 8 AM to 4 PM.<\/p>\n
